Hello all you Mini nuts.

Just checking in to say hi. I've ordered a MINI Cooper S with the following stats: MCS, 6-speed manual, royal grey, silver top, premium and sports packages, leather seats, anthracite dash, LSD, rear fog lamp, harmon-kardon, i-pod adapter. Did I blow it on anything? It pretty much seems like a dream car to me. I've been driving an SUV forever, so this is going to be loads of fun.

I've been reading the posts here and I'm impressed with how friendly and helpful everyone seems to be towards one another.

The long wait begins.

Congrats for your order! I'm stepping "up" from a Suburban to my MINI...which I pick up from the dealer TOMORROW! Yay! The Suburban followed two full-sized extended cab trucks...so I've been in hawgs for too long. But I once drove a 70s era Austin Healey Bug-Eye Sprite, so I think my MINI will fit me just fine!

has anyone but me just called a mini dealer, asked what they had available and gone and bought it? I wanted a red convertible that was an automatic and they had it. So I drove 5 hours and bought it.

Hey cubbyr... that doesn't sound painful enough. Isn't waiting a part of the game? Actually, I tried to do that, but couldn't find what I was looking for. I think the demand for these cars is one reason you can order one without much of a deposit. The dealer knows there will be a buyer whether you show up for the car or not.

Hard to go wrong with any configuration--but yours sounds like a winner.

You are right about the people on this board--very friendly and helpful--I had a bunch of ideas and hints before I even had my car, all from this board!

Pics when you have them!

Great MINI attitude, Offie! Welcome to the cult! Lots of great SoCal MINI folk out there. Be sure to check the regional forum here.

I'm pretty new here and have had several questions answered that couldn't be answered elsewhere.....including the dealer. This is a great place for a great car. Welcome!

Get the anthracite headliner. Somebody on MAN gave me that reccommendation the day before I ordered and I am glad they did. Not only is it better quality, but with your color combo it will look great.

I think you made a good choice. Going from the SUV to the MINI you will feel funny, I went from a F350 4WD DUELLY to my mini as an everyday driver. Good luck and MOTOR ON.

Yes, your MINI does sound like a dream car!!! You're in for some great times behind the wheel of your MINI and, although the wait will thoroughly torture you and drive you to the very edge of sanity, the reward at the end will be great. MINIs are truly fantastic!!

Your specs sounds fantastic! If RG had been around in 05' I definitely would've gone for it...as for everything else, it sounds like a well-rounded package. Please make sure to post pics as soon as it arrives on our left coast

did you order from South Bay MINI? they give you cake..

Anyhow, your MINI sounds awesome and you won't be disappointed! I wanted my MINI so bad I went to at least 6 dealers (luckily i live next to all 6 of em! no more than one hour drive) and I fell in love with one on the lot and bought it. I couldn't wait!

We found Gromit on the dealer's website then drove 150 miles and test drove/purchased him three days later. I would admit that the "waiting game" is part of the MINI experience, but there are different forms of waiting. I had been wanting this car so much for so long before we bought it that I consider that waiting just as bad as waiting after ordering.

If that's what your inner MINI motorer told you to order, than you can't go wrong. Sounds like a sweet ride!

Welcome aboard!
So when is your estimated delivery?

Annette

I agree with this suggestion, BTW. The anthracite headliner will be beautiful with your colors and dash!
