Owners lounge broken?

It says my mini is "awaiting transport." It's said that for a week. When does it usually "transport"?

Anyway, my issue is - when I click "review order details," all that appears is an empty text box with nothing else. I have Flash 8 installed. Has anyone else experienced this?

Try calling 866-ASK-MINI or contact your MA. The site is slow to update. Also, the review order details goes blank once the shipping process starts, or at least it did for me and a couple other people.

It says my mini is "awaiting transport."
Once you leave the factory and are awaiting transport, that is it for the OL. Once you are onboard the ship, at some point your order details are removed and an estimated delivery date appears. Once you have your car, you will no longer see an option to get production status.

Interesting... my information has been blank since I received the VIN for the car, so hopefully it'll be arriving soon! I was told "early March" :D

Thanks for the info guys. I thought VWVortex was a pretty good forum for information (when I owned an R32), but it's not even half as good as this place

Try going here:
http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTrac...trackType=Auto

And put in your VIN. If it does not turn up anything then you are probably on one of the other ships of K-line or NYK which do not have tracking.

If you get a ship name, then go here and try and see if it is reporting it's position

Don't worry, my status has been "At Distribution Center" since January 6th. I took delivery on January 9th. So much for the accuracy of the Owner's Lounge.

What the... it says it's in the Arabian sea. I thought these things were coming from Oxford?

The date's 31 Jan 2006, also. It's probably just not reporting anything. Oh well, even if it is coming out of Yemen, at least it'll have traveled more places than me

Ooo! I just looked at the voyage tracking - it'll be in NYC on March 1st! Now, sorry for these stupid questions, but from shore arrival to me driving, about how much time is that?

What ship is it? The position reporting is voluntary so it may be out of date or non-existant (like mine).

You can also sign up for a free account at AISlive.com and watch it come into port with only a 1 hour delay

Did you sign up for the public free acount here:
http://aisfree.aislive.com/Register/register.aspx

Or the full access 2 week free account?

The public free account registration emailed me immediately. Perhaps you put in the wrong email address or something is broken on their end

ok, I tried signing up again, and I did get an activation email this time.... but I don't see anything that would let me sign up for watching a ship come in

Do you know what ship and what port it will arrive? It is a bit of luck finding your ship on this since the free version does not have a ship search. If you found your ship from the WW site

http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTrac...trackType=Auto
(enter VIN number)
If it is listed there then click on the voyage # to get the port schedule

Also, more info here on finding and tracking your ship:
http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f...q_tracking_usa

Then you can zoom into the port and see if it has arrived. Here is NY for example:

Is your ship the MAERSK WAVE? If so, it'll be arriving on March 1st (tomorrow!) . So... once it hits NYC, about how long would it take to get to a dealership in Northern Virginia? I'm expecting it to be available not this weekend but next. Is that just wishful thinking?

yes. Actually they were delayed a day leaving Southampton and wont arrive until the 2nd

http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTrac...CargoSearch.do

The owners lounge gives me an EDD of March 8, but I think it will be more like the 9th or 10th. probably not much difference between you and me, its just 3-4 more hours driving time :-) soon...soon... :D

Already got my baby, but when I try to sign onto the Owner's Lounge, I get a red lettered message that tells me to call a 1-800 # because they can't sign me on. Anybody else having that problem? Mick

Interesting! I was plotting it out on that sailx site and it looked like it would hit NYC by 12 noon today. Oh well, 1 extra day won't bother me. I'm actually kind of glad it will be arriving next week, as I'll get paid and have some extra money to throw towards it

Ohhhh my goodness! So soon my friend, so soon.

Actually, I noticed you also own a Mustang GT. I'm anxious to hear a comparison between the two once you get your mini. Was considering the Mustang as well.

oh! well, this is not my 1st MINI though.. this is my 4th lol

I had an early 2003 Cooper CVT, BRG/BRG
then a late 2003 Cooper 5 speed PS/B
and currently an early 2005 MCS HB/B ..

My "other" car before I bought the Mustang GT last fall was a 2002 Tbird roadster that I got from my father, which drove like a big wallowy Lincoln unfortunately, but I miss being able to put the top down, thus the MCSC

The Mustang is great- very growly-loud musclecar-ish, lightning fast, great as a stickshift, but not as refined in small details as the MINI. It feels very bulky in comparison really, and most amazing is there is more room in the MINI -!
