I just drove a MCS with JCW, and I'm now looking to purchase one! Chris at South Bay Mini (Los Angeles), pointed me to this site to get more info. So far, I've learned alot! Hopefully I'll join the ranks of the owners soon.

I don't think South Bay has much of a selection. Because they're one of the few dealers not ripping customers off with "market adjustment" markups, they are jammed with orders. They require a $1000. (refundable) deposit and it'll take about 5 months or so to get it. Or you could pony up $3k above MSRP at another dealer and get one now! I had one on order but I ended up buying a used one instead (got my refund). BTW: Has your mom driven one yet? They tend to have a ride that's got some attitude (if you know what I mean). The girl I bought mine from clearly didn't like to drive it, (6k mi in 2 1/2 years). If your mom likes a refined smooth ride, this won't be it!

 

She likes refined smooth ride, but she LOVES small cars where she can park anywhere!
