MPG - 27.2 Must not be as good in a convertible? When is first checkup? I forgot and can't find the scheduled maintenance in 'the book'.

BTW - hubby thinks we should change her name to Pixie. Is that bad luck like on a boat?

Yeah. I had a little taste of the handling in my test drives, but nothing like what I've been experiencing in MY MINI. Maybe it's the LSD. Or maybe it's the lack of a salesperson gasping in the seat next to me. . .but. . . dayum.

I mean, I keep looking for the "Get out of physics free" card somewhere in the car.

 

damn. just got word of a delay. The boat in Oxnard didn't start offloading today. I won't get my car until Tuesday at the earliest now, maybe not until the following weekend. I really hope it's no later than Friday. I already have plans to pack my tuba and support the Gaucho Pep Band in the UCSB/LBSU womens' BBall game on the 28th.

 

So, the weather was craptacular this weekend, I was busy with some work stuff, but I grabbed the cheap digi and pulled into a parking lot and snapped an awkward photo that was completely uninspired and made it into a signature for now.

I'm setting up a separate photography site for motorsports and car related photography, I haven't got anything up there yet. All the design work is sucking up my time right now, but by March I hope to have something rudimentary up.

I am up to 840 miles - haven't checked my MPG, but i do a lot of local driving, only hit 5th now & again.

Fish: Thanks! Problem is, I'm a perfectionist.

The original photo is pretty bland and the quick photoshop work and cropping is what makes it interesting. I'm hoping to get some time this week to get the car good and clean and take some more premeditated photos.

I just rolled over 1000 miles yesterday morning on my way in to work.

My mpg seems to be going down

I think it's mainly due to the fact that I haven't been driving anything but streets for more than a week now.

 

still twiddling my thumbs. A sales associate told me last friday that they'd were offloaded in oxnard that day. Another today told me that the cars aren't yet "in the country" and that the boat is due in the dock on the 28th.

Oh, how I hate being lied to.

 

Did you ever find out what boat you were on?

 

I called the dealer yesterday, and was told that my MINI was unloaded from the boat on the 20th, and should be at the dealer by the end of the week! He also said that it's in their best interest to get it to me by the end of the month for whatever reason, so I should expect to have it by the 31st. However, the Owner's Lounge finally changed its status to "At Distribution Center", and it's giving me an estimated delivery date of 2/2. I'm not sure which to expect... School starts on the 30th, so before then would be choice, but we'll see.

 

I never did know what boat it was on. I got a call on the 26th that the car was on the lot so I told them I'd come in right after work. it had 7 miles on it when I picked it up and after a little run down PCH from long beach to huntington beach, I took it home and the showed it off to my girlfriend with a run up the 22 and over loynes. I finalized the financing this morning and have been showing to friends all night. they've all been extremely impressed. Me too. I got tons of compliments at work. the silver-on-green looks amazing in the sunlight. Most artificial light sources don't bring out the richness of either color. And the dark interior with the chrome lining and cockpit chrono make the inside very attractive and very usable. And I suppose it goes without saying that it drives like an absolute dream.

I didn't really notice until I got the picture onto my computer monitor that the interior looks that way. When I took the pic, I left the door just slightly ajar to keep the interior lights on and somehow it came out looking beige intsead of gray. Probably beacuse of all the orange light from the dash. I have the space cloth seats, and I really like them. But I do wish they were all black. Cordoba would have looked nice, too. I didn't even think of it till I saw the pic, but I've always leaned heavily toward cloth seats. Beige cloth would have been interesting.
