Production Number Support Group

Why you ask?

Well just cuz there are enough of us waiting now and I really want to be in a support group right now

So come on in and check in.

Ordered: 11/22/2005

What I have done since: Read every thread in almost all the non-regional forums from the last 30 days. Driven the people I live with nuts and I got my Moss Mini catalog too , now to wait for the rest of them

.....and my production number

I don't understand why the long wait for a production number. Is it based on dealer allotments? I ordered from Classic on 11/11, had my production number the same day, in production on 11/27 and scheduled for completion on 12/07.

Some dealers may have pre-sold cars even though they did not have a manufacturing slot. This was my case, D&R MINI was a month and a week pre-sold. It is normal especially when you have NO cars in inventory.

I just got my production number, but this is where I am gonna hang out until I see it on the website.

Soo....to keep the thread going...
1. How useful is the glovebox cooler?
2. Anyone got a picture that has the whole of the underside of the car?
3. Does the stock radio display RDS info for radio stations or is that the HK only?

Congrats ravana....

Next question...have you been able to access the owners lounge at miniusa.com yet?

I got my production late yesterday, and as of today the site still doesn't recognize the number in the database......so no owners lounge yet for me

My MA told me that it would take a couple of days, even so I tried and got the same error you got!

Patience my friend

It's not time to use the force...yet.

Also to answer my own question

Its funny, I'm normally a very patient sort.....I thought I would have no problem waiting for my order and overall I don't think I will...

Obviously there are folks waiting a whole heck of a lot longer than I for a production number, its just when you are told 3 days and it stretches into nearly 3 weeks it tends to make one anxious

Hopefully I can just sit back and relax....and try to find some one to buy my current money pit of a car...

I on the otherhand am an impatient person, more so with this car cuz it will be my first new one in my name and all that jazz.

It's gotten to such a point that the 3 others with whom I share my office now know my MINI spec

We also ordered from South Bay, who was your MA? They need to get my car moving, this having one car for two car loving people sucks

Well, unfortunately I need to join all of you in this support group as well....

Halfway through my second week of waiting for the production number - but hoping that with a new month tomorrow comes new possibilities....

I think I am going to live here for a while. Heh. I totally feel like the odd (read: stupid ) man out waiting 6 months for my production number. There has to be someone else here who is waiting that long. I know the Portland dealership and NW MINI here in the Seattle area are both hella long waits. So, come on, dont make me live here ALONE for 6 months.

A.

I ordered Oct 18 and still no production number. However, may I suggest the following while you wait:

Order a Whalen shift ****
Download the manual and READ IT
Scour the forums for good info
Make an accessory wish list for Santa
Start planning your mods
Try to spot as many Minis as you can

And above all, trust your fellow Mini owners when they say " the wait will be worth it".

PDF manuals can be found at motoringfile.com. Scroll down the right side to the box labeled "Motoringfile Downloads". Nothing yet for the 06, but the 05 should be close.

You all don't let Little Egg fool you. The wait is not all that bad for her. She drives the MCc every day. Her loving husband, on the other hand, who technically bought the car in the first place, is stuck riding the bus to work.

But I have to agree. We found the first one in the dealers show room, so the wait for that was like 37 minutes. The second one is a PIA. I hate waiting. I want satisfaction. I want it now.

Ordered yesterday, Got prod and window sticker faxed to me today. I think they replaced my spec with a dealer spec.

Logged in to OL and it tells me it's on order. Check the details and the specs don't match my window sticker. I'm just assuming that the OL database hasn't been updated yet.

Just give it a day, my MA told me it might take a day or 2 for the right spec to show. I think it's the old dealer spec, needs to get updated to your spec.

In the meantime call 1-866-ASK-MINI. They should have the correct spec.

Wow, looks like things are picking up speed.....

Just got off the phone with the nice folks(wtnf) at 866-ASK-MINI and apparently my order now shows as IN PRODUCTION, likely production date of 12/12 ( sort of synergistic with my 11/11 order date, guess 1/1 delivery date isn't possible though...)

Anywho....I guess that makes me Production week 50?? Sound right?

May need to originate a Production Week Thread....
