I have heard of guys who added the rear camera. The box that is included has a secondary input which you can plug a PS2 into it and play both Grand Tourismo 3-4 and DVD's. Have to have the thin edition PS2 to fit into the glove box.

This belongs to in the Navigation and Audio topic. Try searching there.

MINI and aftermarket vendors offer video switchboxes that go between the Nav unit and the display. The switchbox has multiple video inputs (Nav, rear camera, auxiliary video) and selects which input goes to the LCD display. A DVD player would be connected to aux video. It is basically illegal to play a DVD while the vehicle is in motion (if the video is visible to the driver), and you would have to defeat the interlock if this is your intention.

The MINI unit is not offered in the USA but can be ordered from overseas.
There are some articles on this unit by Mike Craven:

Here are some aftermarket units:

The MINI unit is specifically designed for the MINI front and rear cameras, although it is possible to connect an auxiliary video to one of the inputs. The aftermarket units are easier to install and more accomodating to auxiliary inputs. However, if you are at all considering a rear camera, the MINI solution is probably the best choice because its camera is so well integrated into the MINI boot.
