My MINI story...

A little over three years ago , give or take a couple months, I saw a car on the road and knew I had to own one. It took a couple months to find out exactly what it was, and then I found a large amount of information. I even test drove one (a base 2002 MC) about three months after seeing one. I don't remember what sales person I spoke with - but I do remember refusing to drive the MCS because I knew I couldn't afford it at the time.

Since then I have logged onto miniusa at least once every two months and specced out a new Mini. About a year and a half ago it became an S. About nine months ago it became a JCW.

In the interim I have moved on to a much better job and gotten married. I am still driving the same 1993 Chevy Cavalier coupe I have been since 1996 (I've put 115,000 of the 145,000 miles on it) when I am not driving the 2000 Saturn SC1 three door that my wife got for graduation (actually, the down payment was the gift in 2001 - and it was in her dads name, she had to make the payments).

About a year ago, shortly after getting married (ok a little over a year ago before actually getting married) we realized that we would need to replace my car before we were ready to start a family by a couple years. Over the last few months my wife has become more and more nervous when I am driving the cavalier (I'll spare you the problems it has).

Two weekends ago, we finally figured out which car to get now and which to get in two years or so (a Town & Country Touring or a MINI).

Last week I put in an order, and this weekend we finished fine tuning it (she hadn't seen the colors in person yet).

Here is my MINI:

Good for you. We had to wait 3 years also....it feels great, endure the wait...it'll be worth it.
