How many of you had your MA contact you first regarding updates and status changes? I've always had to call and or email them, after getting my responses it always seemed they were semi disinterested or short winded.

The wait has just gotten a lot longer for me! My current car just either had an exhaust bracket or hole appear in it. Started her up yesterday afternoon and it sounded like a pack of hells angels :(

"where do you get this "booking number" from?"

For cars that have been booked on Wallenius-Wilmeswhatever lines, when one checks at their website, goes to "cargo tracking", then "auto cargo", then enters their car's VIN, one should get "Cargo Status History." That might look like this: ( I just did this tracking to get the info to paste here, so for my VIN the site is working -- make sure you use your entire VIN and check that you have it perfect -- when I entered it incorrectly it responded with "no information available.")

Cargo Status History

Cargo Id : WMWRE33526TL......

Booking Number : GBSOU370562 Bill Number : GB384097

Vessel: UNDINE Port of origin : SOUTHAMPTON

Voyage : EX510-UND Port of Destination : CHARLESTON,SC

That shows one the Booking number, the vessel, the ports involved and the vessel's voyage number. I purposely deleted part of my car's VIN so as not to broadcast it......

The only shipping stuff I know about is what MINI uses going to East Coast ports. I might suggest checking the MINI2 website to see if they have tracking information for other destinations, although I don't know for sure that their FAQ shows anything other than East Coast.

Hope this helps.

cheers,

Paul

UNDINE progress ...

As of Nov. 13, 2005 18:00 GMT the UNDINE is at:

39 degrees 48 minutes N, 44 degrees W

You can follow progress at http://www.oceanweather.com/data/index.html. Click on Marine Observations and look for the call sign (SHJC) on the map, or go to the data table and find actual coordinates for SHJC.

Yes. West coast shipments use another carrier and not W&W. As of yet, I don't believe there is a good way to get information on west coast bound Minis.

I've heard, calling 866-ASKMINI might reveal information.

You can also put coordinates in mapquest to get another look at the location:

Hey dxturner. I'm on the Undine too. I've been tracking it a couple times a day. Here's the site I use. http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/index.html#search
Just type Undine in the search name field.

After arriving home today, I checked with the Wallenius web-site. The present voyage of the Undine started a day later than originally scheduled from Southampton, and WW site had changed the arrival date in Charleston to 18 November. Evidently they have been making good time, because today the WW website says the Undine will arrive in Charleston on the 17th of November and depart on the 18th.

The cars draw nearer to reaching us as I type!

cheers,

Paul

Confussed/Question

I understand that according to prior threads CA cars use NYK line. I went to the WW site for the sake of it and found my car booked on the Tosca. It is supposed to leave 11/16/05. I know I could miss this boat , I hope not since I have been at port since 11/4/05. I did not think us Californian's could track our cars because we were NYK customers. So California bound cars it might be worth a check on the WW site.

WW has the Undine in on 11-17, but the Charleston Port list still has it in on 11-18. It's hard to believe they could make up a whole day on a 10 day voyage. It's not like a jet airplane that can up their cruising speed by a cool 50 or 100 mph, but we will know soon enough, heh??

Well I'm leaving for maui on the 16th, so If it gets here on the 14th or 15th I will take her. I need to talk with david about having them install the alarm before I pick her up though. and of course I need to start talking financing :P.

Anyone know if mini is offering any finacing deals? If not I'll call chase up, who I have my bmw x3 loan with, and see if they have any deals

Sounds like a great car. Maybe we can drive off the lot at the same time and honk with joy.

FlynHawaiian, are you shipping your MINI to Hawaii?

Waiting For West Coast Delivery

I can't wait to see my new car. It looks like I am on the Tosca also. Does anyone know if the cars come on rail or truck once they are unloaded at the port?

ATTN; Calling all UNDINE passagemakers.

Port of Charleston schedule currently has the UNDINE making landfall, TODAY, 11-17-05. I guess they did make time over the open ocean with a good tailwind off their stern. See you SOOOOOON...
