the WW auto tracking portion of the site is back up and shows that my MINI has been offloaded (or course, since the boat has left, i should hope that was the case).

 

Strange that the W&W site does not show my car having been offloaded. However, miniusa now shows it at the distribution center. They are obviously having techincal difficulties with their tracking system.

 

classpro, that good news that the OL shows your car in the Distribution Center. Mine is still showing as En Route

Hey other AIDI alumni, what does the Owner's Lounge says about the status of your MINI??

 

As of 8:30am today, WW shows my car unloaded, the OL shows my car is still EN ROUTE and 866-ASK-MINI says they show that it was loaded on the boat aug 8.

i find it odd that they have this great system in place for tracking your car but it's never accurate. i'm no techy, but it seems that if UPS can track thousands (maybe millions) of packages a day accurately, that MINI could track a freakin' car. just my opinion.

the thing that i find the most frustrating is that MINI USA has this tracking system in place but can't seem to keep it up-to-date? how come UPS can tell me where one millions of packages are in the process and MINI can't tell me where a 1+ ton automobile is?

before you reply and tell me that MINIs business isn't shipping... if they are gonna have a site to track the progress then have it.

 

Creeker: I think I'm a couple of days ahead of you because my car was dropped off in New York (that was the first stop for the Aida). But until today it was "en route" (that would be 6 days at the dock, if correct). I suspect that they are just late posting the updates. My guess is that my car will be delivered to the dealer Saturday without them having any idea it's coming (and so I won't be able to pick it up). Just a guess based on DCJeff's post. Of course, it could also be that the car is delayed getting through the system and won't arrive at the dealer for a few more days.

 

just talked to my sales guy and my car is expected to arrive 8/22. woo hoo!

 

Congrats STLMINI!!

My MA just comfirmed that my car is at the Distribution Center but the OL still shows my car as en route. I have no exxpected delivery date yet.

My car is seems to be the same as yours...sitting at the distribution center (according to WW). MiniUSA says enroute, but we know that's not the case.

I just wish I knew when it was going to arrive in Cleveland.

 

Hey mdreuben, Julie told me today that I MAY be able to pick up my car on Monday.

Right now we are sitting at the Holiday Inn Lakeshore waiting for the car. Do you live near Cleveland? If so, can you tell me if the Cedar Point amusement park is work going to? My son and I have going to Indians games and I want to take him to somewhere else this weekend.

Monday would be awesome!

Right now you're about six blocks from my studio (I'm downtown). I don't know how old your son is, but you should see the Bodyworlds II exhibit at the Great Lakes Science Center. It's not to be believed, and located next to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Cedar Point is considered one of the best parks in the country, with some of the best roller coasters anywhere.

md, have you heard from Classic today about the status of your car?

I'm expecting mine to be loaded on a truck today for the short trip to Cleveland.. With any luck, we'll be riding together.

Actually, Owner's Lounge has said "at distribution center" since 8/17, and for some time has had an "estimated delivery date" of 8/20. Actual location is anyone's guess. Several days ago, the dealer said it would probably be another week or more, but they really didn't know anything. Called again today and was told that it's through final processing, but it looks like they have not yet assigned it to a truck. The dealer said, however, that sometimes there is a delay telling the dealer that it's on a truck. So, basically, the tracking system is not very reliable. My guess is that it will be there early next week, but not by 8/20 unfortunately.

There's a chance that I may be able to pick up my car tomorrow!

I won't be able to sleep tonight!

If it works out, we begin our road trip tomorrow. Cleveland -> Allentown PA -. Atlantic City -> Baltimore -> Santa Cruz via Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone!!!

Thanks for the support you have given over these many long weeks. Keep me informed of the status of your cars and don't forget to post pictures!!!

Creeker: How are you going to break in the car on such a long trip? Are you going to take freeways the whole way, or country roads? I'm worried about my 180 miles.

 

I'm on a tight schedule so I'll have no choice but to take some freeways but my mapped out route will take me through the Applachans on the back roads. I'll be driving 400+ miles before I have to hit the highwway.

I figure the car will be fine with a mixture of backroads and freeways. The most important thing for me is to have the oil changed in the first 500 miles. I think this is the best recipe for making a new engine last.

I wish I had the time to putt around town for 1200 miles.

 

OL has updated me to being at the distribution center.

Interesting about the OL, the view order details says my expected delivery date is today, which is correct. In all of the time that I've been waiting, I never looked at this info!


CLASSPRO, what's happening with your car? Did you pick it up yesterday?

 

Bummer, my MA just called and said that my car didn't arrive at the dealership as expected this morning. Looks like we will be staying in Cleveland for the weekend and can hopefully pick up the MCS on Monday

 

Hello AIDA Alum, just wanted to let you know that I picked up my MCS today. Now for the 4000 mile road trip!

creeker, did you car get off at charleston or NYC? i don't remember. looks great!

my wifes MCc should be in St. Louis on monday then the aero kit and driving lights get installed. we should be picking it up thursday or friday!

so the OL says my estimated delivery date was yesterday. would they deliver cars to the dealership on sunday if the dealership was closed?

btw, my wife has decided that her car will be named Peri.
