Questions for current JCW Owners ....

Hi,

I am a Newbie to both the car and the forum. I have enjoyed reading many of your posts over the past few days.

I am gonna pull the trigger on a Mini within the next couple of months. I am currently building my car and need some real advice.

I drove the car with the Kit minus the suspension and enjoyed the car. I would only consider the car based upon the drivabilty of the car with the JCW kit.

Are there mods that can be done to the car for less that will get it to the same place as the JCW without spending big $'s?

Tia.

Doug.

Of course! Very common question.

Smaller Supercharger Pulley, Cold Air Intake and a performance Exhaust will give you similar power to JCW for about $1200 fitted.

The only benefits from the JCW is the name (good benefit if you ask me) and secondly, the warranty is not affected - the latter one is hardly a benefit because dealerships dont know how to fix the cars anyway, only the tuners do, and most tuners warranty their work and products.

Having said that... if you have the cash to throw, I would go JCW. Because you can always add to the JCW. If $6500 is alot of money for you to spend, and will make you cringe when you think about it, then dont do it, it's not worth it.
