hi all!

Last Sunday, I traded in my beloved Suburban for a MCS, and Im so loving every head-turning, curve-gripping exhibition of speed, I wish I'd done it last year... Anyway, driving the truck as if it were in the least agile was not working out for me- I have had my Mini for two days and haven't been pulled over once- Im either really lucky or too conservative...
Oh! Another thing- when Im not driving my Mini, I'm thinking about driving it... Is this behavior normal? Like a new love, I hope it never ends...

Kristina... a.k.a. Wench

Congratulations! That is SO COOL that you dumped the Suburban in favor of the MINI. Was saving on gas the deal maker? I mean, you've gone from the biggest car to the smallest. I'm very curious as to how you decided on a MINI!

Hey Johnny!

Gas mileage/consumption was part of it, as I was spending $450.00+/month with the truck, and the way I was driving really wasn't fair to the bloody thing- I was bored, to say the least. I missed feeling the road and wanted something fast and maneuverable without that "traditional" (read ostentatious) sports car look. I find the MINI sporty and aggressive and cultured at the same time. Mini owners seem a free-spirited, down-to-earth lot as well- thanks for the welcome .
By the way, your MINI is HOT, love the pics!

Welcome, Kristina! You didn't by any chance get to take a side by side photo of the two vehicles, did you? I was parked next to a big yellow Hummer in a parking lot this morning, and was really wishing I had my camera! Congrats on the new car, and enjoy the forums. Give us some more info to envision your car!

Clover,

What's 'talk like a pirate day'??? Im positively intrigued! Haven't got any pics up yet, but it shouldn't be too long before I do, my obsession with the car and 'all things mini' is steadily mounting... On the subject of pics, Chris, you asked if I had on of the MINI next to the Suburban- I didn't think to do that, but wish I had! I came out of a restaurant one night and there was a MINI parked next to my truck- I couldn't stop staring! I went from one extreme to another and couldn't be happier...
Love the forum, you all are so nice  .

Wench,

Welcom aboard NAM!

My daughter has a Suburban and I keep telling her to sell it and get a MINI. Yesterday she said she saw an orange convertible with a black top and she loved it. So I will show here what you said and that may push her off the plank.

Hi Earl!

Im in So. Cal- Corona, to be exact, I see you are in Lakeside- where is that? How long has your daughter had the Suburban? I had mine for 5 years, and the one before that only a short time, as it was stolen. I picked up my '02 Mini (it's dark silver w/white roof) only a few days ago, no regrets

My plates read WENCH66, haven't been able to get them on the car yet cause I have to go through the DMV and transfer.. can't wait... I saw your pics (you are so pretty) love your MINI, too- black was my first choice, but when I found my girl ('02 MCS) sittin' on a lot, I didn't leave without her. She only had 12k miles & I had to have her Thanks for the link!

LOL! , well now you've met a Wench! Thanks for the reply- last night, driving home from work, I considered moving even farther than the 35 miles I already commute just so I could spend more time with my MINI...

I sure hear that!!! I've been contemplating moving very near the train station (I ride commuter rail to work each day).

Pro: I wouldn't drive during the week.
Con: I couldn't drive during the week.

Thanks to my MINI, I haven't moved.

Wench,

Lakeside is a few miles east of San Diego, near El Cajon and Santee.

My daughter has had her Suburban (too long) a year and a half.

Kristina: I love your attitude! You're definitely MINI material! And thank you for the compliment on Black Jack (he loves the attention).

BTW, I have really been enjoying the 15% pulley and the CAI. Are you planning any mods?

Not sure, Luv- I was out tonight and happened upon another MINI- we began to race, and although we only got up to 80 (in a 40 mph zone) (we had to stop for a light) I decided my lack of self control may be a slight issue... Im still getting to know the car (Holly) as wellas the MINI lingo. Im learning so much from all of you! I definately want to get into some mods just have no idea yet as to what! Any suggestions for a Wench, Luv?

BTW, does the link to my aol profile work for you- I want to post pics of my girl there, but Im not even sure ya'll can even view it!
