Another new guy... with a twist (I think)

So I ordered my Mini Cooper S yesterday! I can't wait for it to get here! Now here might be the small twist.. I am 21.. and from what I see on most of the posts around here everyone is older... is this true?

My baby:

I think it looks like everyone is older due to the fact that the Car is not that Cheap.
Unless you skipped college alltogether, or your parents have contributed with the purchase, most people at the age of 21 cant really afford vehicle of this nature.
Im 24 and have just become interested in the Mini's , and am considering it as my first purchase...Now that school is finished, i can actually afford a few more things...If you know what i mean.
So i hope that answers the question....but ive only been on this post for about a week..so if someone else has a better answer, feel free!!

Dude! I'm only 42! There may be a few grey hairs, but don't let that fool you. I think everyone's pretty much a teenager in MINI years.

And what about the insurance DJTyrone? One benefit that comes with age (and careful driving) is reasonable insurance rates.

Have fun with your new MCS, and don't get caught.

I'm similar to you; I'm 24 (25 on May 31st - My MINI is an early birthday gift of sorts!), I graduated college last year, and I started my career (within Marriott International) a week after graduation. This is my gift to myself (and the wife, though it'll be my daily driver) for becoming a contributing member of society.

We should totally have a "Young Guns" club here on NAM! We can be called The Whippersnappers or something like that!

I totally agree with on the Insurance thing...Sofar ive been lucky with no accidents and One minor ticket when i was 16...other than that ive been clean...So when i do get my mini, im thinking my insurance wont skyrocket.
I also live in Toronto, and our Province when you turn 25 your insurance rate drops a bit...So im not too worried about the Insurance..
If you dont me asking DCMITCHELL.. How much does the Insurance go for In the states or at least around your area?? Just Curious.
Over here im paying $100 canadian dollars a month for a 96 Mazda Protege, and that is pretty good for my age!

Perhaps you should look up this thread currently running ad nauseum: "I need help I am a MINI abuser". The poster may be only 16.

Hey... I think I might like this "MINI years" concept. How does that work, exactly? Sort of like "dog years in reverse?

Indeed. I am 22 and just purchased an MCSa. I worked and saved as much as I could during college, and finally have a well paying job that lets me afford my MINI.

Also, to the OP, are you the same BattleCattle on SA? Doesn't seem like too common of a name...

The Question is......
Did you pay for College yourself, or was it funded by your parents???
If you did pay for it yourself, and you managed to Save up to buy your own Mini, Then Congrats..That is Very Difficult these days!
During College Buying a car was the last thing on my mind....
Spent too much on Partying and Entertainment!!!
Wouldnt change it for the world!
Plus payed for my own way..which In the long run is better for the person.. It might not leave you with more money when you get out..but that responsible and the Satisfaction of know you did it with minimal help is a cool feeling!
but i would of still loved for my parents to pay..dont get me wrong!!!!

But you still dont answer the Question....
WHO PAYS FOR YOUR CAR???
Do you pay?...Do Your parents pay?
Does Your Parents Assist?
Sounds like your parents play a role...
YOur Sis with a MCC at 18....That pretty young!

In my family both my sis and I pay for our own cars! Believe it or not. But we both also work out butts off. My parents do pay for college so it helps. We both go to a local state school that isn't to much. We also pay for our insurance through our parents. My sis loves his MCC and even more after I got her some bonnet stripes.
