Hello from Phoenix

Hi all!

I've been looking/drooling at the Mini Cooper S for about two years now. I rented a standard Cooper for a weekend and had an absolute blast, sold me for sure!

So, I sent to Scottsdale Mini this past weekend to get the order time down and seems they are still at 4-5 months total. Two months to get through the dealer waiting list and another three for the factory. Anyway, I'll probably plop down the money for the waiting list but am still looking around the West for an alternative. Any help with a dealer than has a Dark Silver with Black top in stock would be great!

Looking forward to Motoring! (add modding of course!)

Welcome,

WOW, renting a MINI, wish I could have done that around here. I have been waiting for some time myself, if I could rent every now and then it might help. Or not....

So what are you going to get? Specs.

Check ALL the Mini Dealers you can possibly look up. Classic Mini in Ohio has about an 8 week wait. You could hop a cheap flight and break it in on a 3-4 day drive home. They can even arrange shipping to you if you want. Just because a dealer is 1/2 way across the continent doesn't mean they won't sell to you.

I was at Crevier Mini in Santa Ana this past weekend to check on my ordered MCSCa and while I can't be absolutely certain, I think there was a MCS silver with a black top on the lot. Call or e-mail Christian Banks (cbanks@creviermini.com). You just never know ...

Yeah, National Rent-a-car had them for awhile... nice monsoon storm blew through that weekend so it got some good rain/flood testing too hehe.

Specs... Premium and Sports (w/17" web spokes) packages, chrome exterior package, aux input... think that was it

Of course mods already pre-spent in my head... cold air intake, catback exhaust, pulley mod, ecu chip... and im sure thats JUST the beginning... hehe.

Welcome to the obsession We put the initial deposit at Mini North Scottsdale on 2/12. It was finally put into the computer to mini last Friday. Now the next phase of the wait begins. Be sure and check out www.dynamicminicollective.com It's the Arizona chapter. They've given me some useful info.

Welcome to NAM, yzdj! You can definitely find other dealerships across the nation to get your MINI sooner, but one thing to realize is that unfortunately, you get better service with your local dealership if you purchase from them. Just something to consider...

Good luck and keep us posted!

Check out Moritz MINI in Arlington, TX. 8 weeks wait, MSRP. I wouldn't worry about buying at your local dealership. The service departments do not care where the MINI comes from, that department is the money maker for the dealership.

Thanks for all the great/fast responses! I went with vegasdans suggestion of Moritz Mini in Arlington, TX and he was right on. No waiting list to speak of, no markup, MSRP only and a $100 or so in local taxes and doc fees. They had build dates open in early May for late June or early July delivery so I jumped all over that and am getting the MCS as i built online and will fly out to Dallas and drive it home!

The next two months will be worse than the last two YEARS I've been looking to buy one! hehe...

Thanks everyone again!

Woo hoo! Just checked the owners lounge and my Mini is scheduled for production! I called the 1-866-ASKMINI and it told me a completion date of May 8th!! MUCH quicker than I was originally told by Moritz.

Stoked in Phoenix!

Only if it was flown over.

Mike, once at Charleston (eta 5/25), it has to process thru the VPC (or VDC or whatever they call it now) and that can take a while, or it can be less than 2 days. Then gets shipped after that.

Yeah, it's being delivered from Charleston, SC to Moritz Mini in Arlington, TX. Looking like we'll fly to Dallas on the weekend of June 3rd or 10th, once we have a firm delivery date Looking forward to taking a long weekend and the drive back!
