New MINI Owner Soon!!!!

Hi all, my name is Dave (as you might have guessed) I'm currently shopping for a low mileage 2004 or a new 2005 Cooper S. I believe I've found the place I want to buy (MINI of Pittsburgh), and have heard good things about them on this site. I've got an email into them about what they have in stock, just waiting to hear back from them. I should be buying sometime this coming week or next weekend and I'm very excited to start my MINI driving career:smile:

I grew up in Pittsburgh for most of my life, so I figured I might as well give a little back to my hometown by buying there I live in Richmond, VA at present and am a member of the River City Minis. I'm glad this site it here and look forward to meeting some of you in the near future.

Dave.

Grats! If your dealer has a decent selection you should find one exactly how you want, or pretty close, no problems. What color are you wanting the most?

I'm wanting either Black/Black or Black/White the most...then I suppose BRG...but I'm just not sure yet...it's something about an all black MINI though that really catches my eye. MINI of Pittsburgh had one listed in their inventory that was all black, so I'm hoping it's still there this week

Like you I looked at '03s & 04s before deciding on an '05 MCS and boy, am I glad I did. 05's have improved acceleration due to improved gearing. Only drawback is the wait from order to delivery...anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks plus. Of course you'll get exactly what you want. If you're flexible, take a look at www.autotrader.com. Enter range of 2005 to 2005 to see what's available. You probably know that the MINI warranty carries over to you as new owner. Right now, unless it went this past weekend, autotrader listed a pepper white Cooper S with Premium pkg and a few other goodies with 5k miles at the Nissan dealer in Cherrry Hill NJ. Most prices on Autotrader are 'asking price', not selling price. Cost it out new on www.miniusa.com and then tell them to sharpen their pencils!!!
I opted for a new Cooper S from my dealer in Morristown NJ, pretty much @MSRP and they say i'll have it between mid april and mid may...good luck whatever you decide. Let me know, oi?

I also bought my car from Morristown (I took delivery Jan. 14th). They're a really great dealership. I'm thinking the fact that they only have MINI's there (as opposed to BMW's & MINI's) that you do have a better buying and service experience than you would at a combined dealership. Happy Motoring!

Good choice on the dealership, Dave. I bought my car from MINI of Pittsburgh and (so far, at least) it has been a great experience. While you may never take your MINI to Pittsburgh for servicing, I was highly impressed with that area of the dealership as well. A little tight on space because of the urban setting, but overall a top notch dealership. I hope they have what you need. Best of luck.

Thanks all, and thanks for the info on AutoTrader...I've been searching a lot there too...but MINI of Pittsburgh really does have what I want. Graham from that dealership has been in touch with me by PM's over the last couple of days...and I'm down to a choice between a Black/White 2005 S that they have in stock or 1 of a few MC40's they have in stock as well...this is a hard decision, but I really like them both, and should know by this week sometime what the deal is, and which one I'll be getting. I'll keep you all posted, and of course with plenty of pics when I pick her up, whichever one it ends up being

Dave.

Dave:

All the ones I checked in autotrader were sold by the time I called. I was also looking for black/black and I also wanted Nav and leather. I literally set an appointment to go order one and then saw one listed fresh on eBay. Called the guy and bought it next day. (30 min $85 flight from Tampa to Palm Beach)

Fear me!

Hey, that's a sweet Black/Black MINI you've got there...I like it a lot. Good find. Graham at MINI of Pittsburgh has reserved me a MC40 model, so I should have it within a week...THANKS GRAHAM!!!!! Hell of a guy, and very easy to work with...great no pressure sales guy and willing to help with anything. So looks like I've found the one, and shall be motoring soon enough

Dave.

I will post pics of course as soon as I get it home from Pittsburgh

Ordered a Chili Red, white top MCS last week, DSC, LSD, Chrono pack, 6 speed, 16" V-spokes, leatherette, Xenon, fog lamps..got my production number about two days later, been burning up the Owners lounge, but it says still on order, ordered mine from Mini Of Charleston. Went down there about 3 times before making my final decision, nice folks to work with, no high pressure sales pitches there...can't wait for "Scooter" to arrive...

Good choice! I am kinda partial to MC40s . The hard part will be deciding if you want to modify it. You will go through the "collectibility" battle and then finally the mod bug will win out and you will go crazy! I know from experience

LOL, I had already been thinking about that for a while...but I like go fast goodies, so I know I'm doing a pulley, intake, and exhaust as the first mods. I'm pretty much planning though to leave the exterior stock, with the exception of swaybars, to keep that "collectibility" as much as I can. God forbid I have to get rid of it, as I'd like to keep it forever, but with those mods, they can easily be taken off and converted back to stock should the need arise (perhaps trading it in for a 2010 Convertible S with the stock twin charger *hint hint MINI if you're reading this*)

I do like your MC40 alot though, very nice job you've done to it. Graham from the dealership just informed me that this particular MC40 was their dealership's show car, so I know it's been taken care of and is in great shape...has 1300 miles on it..but that's great, since it's so close to the break in mileage...it will certainly hit over 1500 by the time I get it back to Richmond from Pittsburgh, so I'll be ready to go as far as mods immediately Gotta love it.

Ramjet, congrats on your order, sounds like a great MINI you've got coming your way...

Dave.
