glad to hear that i am not the only one that went and visited their car before they got to pick it up! and speaking of picking up... thats a funny story. I was supposed to get Sam at noon.... and it is now 12:30... so you are all wondering what I am doing on my computer rather than at the dealership right? haha its a funny story... no car to get there and Niello cannot decide how much money i need to bring them! so I am stuck at home for the next who knows how long! sad face.

oh well at least i have janet evanovich to keep me company!

What?!! Call a cab. Bring your check book, credit card, cash, whatever.
Go get your car.

You must be going crazy at home right now. I sure hope for your sake this gets sorted out soon.

Yay! I'm glad you finally got to pick up Sam! Now go motor! I expect not to see you back until you're about to drop from exhaustion.

Congratulations! I figured the long break without any posts was good news. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Samantha is finally with me...

Lots of drama yesterday with parts and such. Parts that were supposed to be ordered had been cancelled, parts that were supposed to be installed were not done, a part that was vital to the installation of my tires had been lost and needed to be reordered...

I was about 2 hours late for my scheduled pick up appointment by the time that I got there. Wade had called and didnt know how much money i needed to bring him and then my dad (who loves me lots!) wanted to put a bow on Sam and that was taking forever... so not my fault that I was late...

I get there and she is sitting in the showroom with a big red bow on her bonnet She is all clean and ready for me to pick her up! WooHoo! We start talking about all the paperwork and such and then Wade disappears over to BMW for a little while to do something... Well I had not been able to sit in her or anything yet and I am talking with the parts manager (a great woman named Michelle) about getting the parts sitch settled when this couple walks in to the showroom... Now normally I am a very nice person, very willing to talk about my car and show her off... but I had not been able to visit/sit in/touch her yet... so when they started touching her and opening her doors and such I was PISSED!!!!! how dare they! I walked over and nicely said something like hey this is my new car and I have not gotten to touch her/ sit in her yet... I would appreciate it if you would not touch her/ get in her... now later I did let a group sit in her and explore her, but they were SO rude! they mocked me and mumbled rude things at me... way to add another frustrating thing to my day! We finally get all the parts settled and everything done... cool thing- This is GREAT customer service- I have custom plates for her... To get them I would have to go stand in line @ DMV and deal with all that crap since I was unable to get an appointment... They are going to go to DMV and do it all for me! We will head to the dealership on Friday to get the plates there!

now to the important part- the motoring!!!
I leave the dealership and am motoring around... It is surreal that I am in MY MINI, that she is FINALLY here! The handling was AMAZING... I was doing twisties at 40 over the recommended speed limit and the ride was smooth and without problems... you wouldnt have thought i was going that fast... (i didnt until i looked at my speedo and went uh oh... need to slow down!) and speaking of slowing down, I am sure that most of you have been out motoring and realized how easy it is to speed in your MINI! With my SUBeast, things would start shaking at around 65 and even worse @ 75, so going fast was always a hassle... I took Sam on the freeway and was going 80 without realizing it... even with her runflats- the ride was GREAT! No complaints here for anything with her... (well minus her missing accessories!) She is better than I could have expected her to be! I motored over 100 miles in her last night and was still comfortable and wanting to motor more when I realized I was tired and should go back home and to bed...
one funny thing i realized... In my durango, the headlights are all messed up- they are very low and very dim... they are so bad, i was out motoring with my parking lights and got the same effect! When I motored with my xenons for the first time i was hooked! they are the GREATEST headlights EVER! I can now see the other cars, the road, AND the things on the side! like a deer! YEA!
oh and an apology to the PS/B MINI that I saw around J and 30th yesterday- I did wave back!!! I was trying to concentrate on the traffic and not crash when I saw you! hope you saw me!
I did something unspeakable yesterday- I let someone other than myself drive her! (shocking huh!) I let a dear friend of mine take her for a very short test drive around the area... (like 8 miles or so before I had to have her back!) and his only complaint was the lag time when you shifted gears manually... hes a hard core manual fan so he notices these things...
me? i love my automatic! (because i dont have the experience in a manual and like that i dont have to concentrate on it... i do understand that i am missing out on the driving experience a lot here, but i feel safer and can focus on the roads better... i know that my project cars will be manual when i get around to building them, but for a daily driver right now... shes perfect!)

well i must go now and finish getting ready... I have someone that needs to meet her and my dad has all the pics that we took yesterday...
except for one... oh and i want to go motor! lol
(the glare on wade's face kinda sucks, but i dont have the photoshop abilities to fix it... so enjoy!)

0h and one VERY important thing- she is STOCK here!
She has NONE of her accessories on here...

Nice Car!

You have very cool parents. They must be extremely proud of you! I've had mine for 2 weeks. Taking the cup is half full approach, you now will be able to tell the differences in the car once you have all of the options installed. You will be able to provide better perspective on whether all of the items were worth it.

Have fun!

Awesome Queen! She fits you perfectly. And will only be better once all of the fun bits are added.

Can I just say I am so bleeding jealous?
