New Mini Owner

Hello Everyone,

I am proud owner of a 2005 mini cooper convertible in BRG.

Question for the veterans - Tips for winter driving (I do not have DSC/traction)?

Thanks

Welcome to NAM. I really like snow tires. I lived in Michigan for 4 winters with all-seasons. This winter I bought a MINI and snow tires. The idea that all-season tires are almost as good as snow tires is a lie! Snow tires are to all-season tires as MINIs are to other cars.

Now that I’ve been so evangelical about snow tires, I would suggest waiting until next fall to get any unless you live north of me.

me and my lowered MINI made it thru a bad Michigan winter on balding all-seasons. if i drive the MINI next winter, it will be on dedicated snow tires. but it truly isn't a bad car in the snow

Budd Hee Here From the land of twisties and supercharged fantasy!
I too am a new mini owner.
A new owner of a beautiful white/white with painted white arches and 30% tints. I shall call it, The Budd Hee Special.
The seats should be replaced with some white leather racing seats soon!

Looking for new wheels and suspension options, any advice?

Thanks for the advice. I checked with the deal and they want $600.00 for tires and rims - will do some research for better deals.

Another newbie question - At around 12mph or less the car seems jerky, like it is going to stall. I do have automatic if that makes a differnce.
