Hi all - Bill from Colorado Springs. My wife and i just picked up an '04 MCS, dark gray, black top/bonnet stripes, blue/black leather w/nav & moonroof - what a great car. At least, I THINK it's a great car - the wife puts all the miles on it, not me.

Anyhow, great site, we hope to be regular contributors/readers. I'll be keeping an eye on the calendar for events - if anyone knows of anything happening in the Colorado Springs area, feel free to drop me a line at uunetbill@msn.com. I've seen at least 3 other MINIs out here at the AF base I work on, so I know there are a few in the Springs - I'd love to get together for a cruise some weekend. . .

Bill

Bill,

Welcome to NAM!

If you're not already a member, consider joining mini5280. The club has quite a few members in the Springs and has regular get togethers and drives.

I know there is a LY/W MCS that belongs to an instructor out at the Academy. He's a member of MINI5280.

Dave,

Thanks - already a member of 5280. I know they're a little more Denver-centric, but they still have events and meets down south here. That LY MCS at the Academy - I think I've seen that one around. Out here at Schriever, we have (that I know of) my dark gray, one med blue S, one dark blue MC, and a BRG MCS with some really nice stripes on it.

Speaking of which, these stripes are unique - kind of a silver spatter pattern with the Cooper S text in there, with a Union Jack at the front. Anyone know where these might have come from? Obviously I can't put the same set on mine, but I'd like to see what source they came from to see if there are any other nice graphics kits I could get for mine.

Welcome my friend... Congrats on finding us and Happy Motoring!!

Interesting user name - I worked for UUNET in Reston, VA - then of course the name change and all that jazz to MCI/Worldcom...laid off with thousands of others back in 2003....all in all, they did me a favor....life moves on and better doors open...

Small world

Donna,

I worked for them in Ashburn, remote from COS. I, too, got caught up in the WorldCom takeover/reorg/scandal/layoffs, etc. Working for a REAL company now, much happier. When the 6th round of layoffs finally got me (and my entire team) I was a LOT happier. Could finally relax! Gotta admit, though, it was good to see Bernie get convicted. Doesn't make up for the $$ we all lost in our stocks, 401Ks, etc. but I'm vindictive enough to be happy.
