Virgo Leader

I found out the name of my boat! Samantha is booked on the Virgo Leader. Now I just need to know when they are going to leave!

Is anyone else on this boat? I have met one person so far... anyone else?

Has anyone tracked to the west coast? I heard a rumor that you could only track to the east coast... Is this true?

and one more thing...
How long does it take to get through the VDC in Southern CA? and up to Niello in Sacramento? anyone know?

*she ended up on the Jupiter Diamond... one of those pesky non-trackable NYK ships!

You named your Mini Samantha? Like Sex In The City Samantha? If so, I like it. If not, I like it just the same. Samantha is a hot name for a Mini. How did you find out what boat your Mini is on? How do I find out about mine? Congrats! My Mini is still in que...

Congrats! I think it depends on the shipping company when tracking to the west coast. I think some of the MINIs end up on ships from a different company when heading there, not completely positive though.

I have a boat now, too!!! Whoooohoooo!!!

My Lola has been built! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

As of today, she's "awaiting transport" and will board the Maersk Tide, which was built in Japan in 1997, just like my car I just sold.... go figure!

How exciting to enter my VIN and have actual data pop up for the very first time! I'M PSYCHED! This is so much fun!

Anybody else's MINI scheduled to board this ship?

Find out here: http://www.2wglobal.com/www/wep/index.jsp

Click on cargo tracking... then auto cargo.. enter VIN

Waiting for my ship to come in, (literally!)

different vessel all the sudden?

Weird. OK, plugged in my VIN this morning and now it shows my MINI is aboard the Takasago and that it departed Southampton March 17th (yesterday).

Yesterday when I went online, it showed my MINI being on the Maersk Tide, departing March 16th.

Strange, but I have to say, the Takasago is way cooler looking!
Check it out: http://www.ww-group.com/archive/Inte...t/takasago.jpg

Anyone else got their MINI aboard the Takasago? She's scheduled to arrive in NYC in exactly one week. One day later than I was originally told but whatever, right?!

Happy Fried Day, everyone!

Samantha, Great name. I grew up in a community named Samantha (pop. 45). We were too small to be incorporated. Lore has it that the community was originally named Quaker Settlement, but that none of the residents (most of whom were Quakers incidentally) really liked the name. So the elders determined that they would rename the place, by choosing the name of the next person who entered the Quaker Meeting House (church). Just so happened to be a little girl named Samantha. Anyway, great name for a MINI.

That is AWESOME! A town of only 45 residents! I did not know those still existed! What state was this in?

I LOVE your cars name... I actually considered BlueBelle for mine (because of the blue bonnets I see when I visit my pseudomom in Texas and are starting to grow here in NorCal... oh and Bluebell Ice Cream is TO DIE FOR! too bad it is not sold in CA) but since its been taken...

I am contemplating changing her though... which sucks because I have been thinking about her as Samantha for so long now. Why you ask? I know that my next car will be a project car (in about 2 years I plan to start-once I have my bachelor's degree) and the name just fits that car SO much better... She will be a 1968 Corvette convertible... anyways... so I am torn on keeping that name. The current runner up name is Paris (I love it there! and kinda after Hilton- but thats another more inappropriate story.) and I dont know if I like it... I will have to wait and see what she looks like when she gets here!

What do you all think?
(i know its up to me, but I just wanted to ask!)

I think you need to go into the why-fors of Samantha . . . Then we can all decide about the name change . . .

(LOVE the voting sign!)

Hmmm... Samantha to me seems like this sleek sexy dark car... one that looks classy but has WAY too much power under the hood... i dunno... ever since my friend told me that i should name my 'vette Samantha, it just seems to fit... BUT i have been calling the MINI Samantha for a while now... why? (this may offend some, so ill try and keep it vague/clean... the show Sex and the City was my inspiration... Samantha looks classy from afar... but umm all the guys want a ummm ride..... which is how my car is going to be... (sorry if that was too crude for anyone...)

another new name suggested from a friend is Marissa... the younger crowd will get it... there is a show on WB called OC... and one of the characters is named Marissa Cooper... lol play on name.... I have been watching the car name forum... but still cant decide...
