Calculation, Debate, Delivery.
Hello all. I've been browsing the site for quite some time trying to decide if the MCS was the right car for my wife and I. She is rather passive, but has specific tastes (the STi was right out...she didnt want to drive an ugly box!), and the Z left much to be desired in the way of...space, and comfort. We debated a while on the G35, but I wasnt really game for it. It made me feel like an old rich lady for some reason *shrug*
So...by matter of subtraction only the MCS was left standing. The JCW package was debated over, but for 6k I can do a lot better (just have to wait for that pesky warranty to run out).
I've owned 12 hatchbacks in my 12 years of driving, all but one being an early 90's honda. Ive been auto-xing since I could drive, and can take apart and put back together any early 90's honda in 2 days flat.
We're heading to the dealership on Sat. to set the deal in stone on an '05 black MCS w/ premium, sport, cold, conv. packages and the LSD. The 17's are being sold as soon as the car gets delivered, and a 15, or 16" wheel (not sure which) will be wrapped in Falken Azenis for the auto-x season.
I still have a lot to learn so I'll be calling on the NAM experts in the future...be on the lookout

Every corner I take, every on and off ramp gets me thinking...whats this going to be like in the Coop? Every time I come out to a cold car, I think about heated seats...I hope it doesn't drive me crazy before it gets here!!!
And that's not all!
Wait until you see the look on other people's faces!

Congradulations! I am amazed at how similar your story is to mine, the only twists are, I have an eight year old dauthter that would not let me get a two seater and back in the 70's I had three convertables, so I had to go with the cabrio! She just came out of production and is awaiting transportation. I like your package, nice!
Good luck!
Good luck!
So at about 8pm I checked the status of my mini (as I do many times during my day) and noticed that it was still scheduled for production. Ho-Hum....
When I got home from work at about 11:30 my wife and I were about to watch 'sideways', and for some reason I decided to check once more...dont know why....just felt like it...
BAM!!!! My MCS is now awaiting transport!!!! I have to admit I got a little excited, and did a little dance
Made my week.
So...from the day I got my production number (mini was already scheduled for production) to the day that it moved to awaiting transport was 14 days exactly.

Quick question. How do you find out what ship your Mini is on? I called my MA and he said it will be listed on miniusa.com but I cant find any place for that info.
Edit: Nm...My mini is still awaiting transport. The picture of the semi is a bit misleading for the 'En Route' section...Im assuming Ill get a ship assignment when I'm at that step

Im jealous your car is arriving so quickly.
I placed my order on St. PAts. Mid March.
Its now mid April and I just got the status of scheduled for production.
I called MINIUSA and they said the build date will be May.
So mid May to early June is still the arrival date of the MCS convertible.
Thats at least a 2 month wait.
sigh

At 2:22p.m. cst my MCS was unloaded from it's trip across the Atlantic. WW's website and voyage schedule have been right on. Well see when miniusa updates. I'm assuming it will be a few hours before it gets from the docks to being checked in at the distribution center...so close. I called up my dealer today and they said 7-10 days is their average wait from when it gets into the distribution center, and when it arrives on the lot. I could have it by next weekend!!!!

With my first MCS, it arrived at the dock (Elizabeth, NJ) on Saturday. On Monday it was trucked to the dealership (Mahwah, NJ) and I picked it up end of day Monday.
Im happy for you and hope your car makes it to WI pronto..

Well...still no change from the miniusa site. I'll give them until the end of the day today before I get suspicious
Here is the first of my mods.
Its laid out oddly because I was short the antenna I ordered from Out Motoring, and I sent them the pic of the entire contents of the box. They replied back to me right away, letting me know that there was supposed to be a letter stating they had the antennas on backorder, and it would be following w/in 3-5 days
So...since I ordered it first, I guess the first mod was the antenna

Sometime between last night at 12, and this morning at 9 my Mini moved to 'At Distribution Center' on miniusa.com. So 3 days after WW said it was unloaded it changed. Just made the final deal on selling my civic, so everything is now in order

I think since mine does not have a production date that I am going to be delayed due to the fire at the HK factory....
Hope I'm wrong! The only mod I want to do is the wind deflector that goes behind the front seats... oh and add driving lights..
