Hi all! Kimberly and Kevin here, new owners of a Chili Red '02 MCS with only 16,000 miles (darned good eh?). Have had tons of fun with it this past week! Took it in today for bonnet stripes, rally lights and few recall issues. Oh yeah, and a seat replacement -- let's just say the seat heater created a wee fireball Will get it back Friday, garage looks so empty without it!

Yeppers, you read it right, ... went out, turned on car and seat heater, went inside to gather up rest of my stuff, came back, opened door, saw and smelled smoke, this is where certain four letter words escaped my lips. Left a hole the size of a quarter in the back of the seat. Good thing my fanny wasn't in the car when it happened (hubby never would have let me live that down!) Called the mini dealer and he said it's been a common problem among old beemers but hadn't heard of it on a mini. Told him I didn't care if he'd heard of it or not, just get me a new seat on order
