Youngest owner?

Hello, I've been a 04' MCS owner since May of 04. People from other forums seem to be surprised that I didn't go for the typical teenager's "sports" car since I'm 17. I have loved the MINI ever since I saw a special on TV few years back. Ever since then, I've always wanted one.

This is sort of one of those 3rd hand things but....
When I was going to lunch with my family over the holidays I pulled into the parking lot at the local Chiles. There was this guy and his family coming out of the restaurant and he was staring at my car. He was sort of interested in one, but mentioned that a friend of his ordered a new mini and he was in his 70s.

Probably not the youngest owner since that title belongs to whoever's parents are buying a new MINI Cooper for a lucky boy or girl's 16th birthday today. Perhaps some parents might even buy it for a 15 year old with a learner's permit.

Nonetheless, you are one lucky kid to have such a nice car as your first!

There is a...

...60+ year old owner that regularly posts on Mini2. I think most anyone driving a Mini (either the New or the Classic) can actually be said to be "years young" instead of "years old"... since those who drive these sweet babies are truly "young at heart".

Not quite, baby! A bunch of us are older than that! Two years ago, I heard of an 80-year old woman in the Northeast who had purchased a MINI!

This is the great thing about MINIs: the wide-ranging age group and the incredible variety of people enthusiastic about them defies the demographic experts and their formulas! YAY!

Good qoute. Typical Ricers are what teenagers want now, Evos, WRXs', civics, I just wanted to break the trend, even though most of my friends are in that cult/group, all of them think my car's awesome though. I'm afraid I have you all beat though my Cooper S is sitting in my garage right now, and I don't turn 16 until the eleventh of march!!

And as most of you know, (I have stressed it many times), I bought my car!

Have an Awesome week, us kids will be off tomorrow though!!!

I'm only 64 but I can tell you one thing about my MCS...Best car I have ever owned. No other car I would trade it for as a vehicle I had to keep and drive.

Only problem with my MCS was I picked it up on 4-19-03 and got my First ticket on 4-27-03, 92 in a 65 (sure glad I had slowed down). An that was before I had any of these:

ALTA PULLEY, ALTA INTAKE, THROTTLE BODY, PLUGS,
WIRES, COIL PACK, SSR COMP WHEELS, MILLTECK SPORT CATBACK, H-SPORT LOWERING SPRINGS, P/S FAN COVER, H-SPORT REAR SWAY BAR, H-SPORT CONTROL ARMS, UNICHIP ECU, WEBB’s STAGE ONE BRAKES,
AUTO UP WINDOWS, VOICE OPERATED GPS SYSTEM, M7 OIL CATCH CAN, UPPER AND MID GRILLS, ALTA SHORT SHIFTER,
WHALEN SHIFT ****, DRIVER’S KNEE PAD

Earl.. that its probably one of the coolest posts I've ever read. There are no 64 year olds in my life that come close to this. I sincerely hope that when I'm 64 I'm driving a totally modded MINI. Thumbs up to you

Yougest in my area?

16 year old girl with a new MC-
Painted it metallic Pink! with white stripes. Looks great.

Oldest?
80+ year old retired physician with young 60+ year old wife who bought a demo Indi Blue Italian Job spec show car complete with R90 wheels and Rally lights.

My son is just 14. He needs just 18 more months before he can get his learner's permit. When we drive go-karts he says he can beat me really bad.
Of course I say, he weighs 70 pounds less and the go-kart has only a few HP.

IM 21 now and have had my MCS for almost 2 years. When I was 17 I had a 2003 Chevy Silverado extd cab with 2 12"subs in dash tv with ps2 hooked up to it. But those days are gone now its all about performance for me .

I was 15 when the 04 MINI first arrived, but haha I was never the owner. However, its my dads, (who is 49) and sometimes I have problems accepting the fact that he isnt a teenager anymore...

I got mine 3 months after my 18th birthday. I also looked into other "sport" cars. Like a Mustang, Camero, Trans Am. I picked the MINI over all of them. The insurance rates on all those beasts would have killed me. Its interesting to see the difference in age in MINI drivers and that how no matter the age everyone can get together for meets, or even talk on these forums.
