Quote: I got mine 3 months after my 18th birthday. I also looked into other "sport" cars. Like a Mustang, Camero, Trans Am. I picked the MINI over all of them. The insurance rates on all those beasts would have killed me. Its interesting to see the difference in age in MINI drivers and that how no matter the age everyone can get together for meets, or even talk on these forums.

Hopefully its like that where you live....at most of the mini meets i have been to i was consistently teased and excluded for being young....i have started hanging with the BMW groups now becase they are more accepting of my age.

Yeah me too. Now all the money I use to spend on the "bling" on the truck is being spent on mods for my MCS . Goin faster please's me more then loud speakers and tv's, althought i do plan on putting a touch screen cd/dvd player in my mcs just for a different head unit. But not subs, subs = dead weight to me.

The h/k sound unit is good enough, let alone the engine for music...If it isnt necessary...take it out. Heck, if there was an A/C delete option in the US, I would have done that...(all you have to do is roll the windows down)

we got the S for my dad the christmas of 02, but he almost never drives it, so I like to think its my car , just paying for the gas. He drives the 545 to work because the ride is too harsh in the mini.

all of a sudden i feel kinda old! i got my MCS just before my 19th birthday, now im 20, and can never stop grinning!

i agree.. i tried other, some of them included in the ricer culture (wrx for one, celica for another), but they are great, just not what i wanted... i sure miss modding japanese cars, but modding a mini has his own quirks... afterall.. im one of the few S driven by young people that has modded in my area...

Quote: Probably not the youngest owner since that title belongs to whoever's parents are buying a new MINI Cooper for a lucky boy or girl's 16th birthday today. Perhaps some parents might even buy it for a 15 year old with a learner's permit.

Nonetheless, you are one lucky kid to have such a nice car as your first!
Beat me i turned 16 nov 04 and got my cooper aug 04

i've been trying to get my dad to subsidize the addition of mods to the S, sayings its only 400 for the 19% etc... You guys have any good directions i should take it. The car is over 2 year old now and only has 8500 miles, so reliability wouldnt be an issue. It is cool to know other kids like this car, alot of my friends think its a chick car, but after a drive through the mountain they quickly change their opinion.

So, who REALLY owns their car in this thread?
The bank/finance company owns it till you get it paid off. I don't own mine yet.
So who is the youngest OWNER?

I Would say that If your name isn't on the title then its not theirs, I would be very suprised If a 4yr old has a car in their name, especiallt for insurance purposes. So I don't think that one counts!

If your name is on that title I say you are the youngest so far. I know there are some 16yr olds but I would also be suprised if their name is on the title.

Ok my MINI is completely paid for. I am 17 now got it at 16 but my name isn't on the title but I'm the only one to drive it! Dads name is on the title, but he only drives in once in a blue moon. So does this count cause it is mine but my name isn't on the title?

This is a little past but my daughter got her 03 silk green mini 4 days after her 16th b-day. She ordered it way before hoping it would be here before her bday ( grandfather bought it for her ) but the best part was the day it was ready to be picked up was the same day she took and passed the driving test and became officially licensed. She still has the car and loves it as much as th eday she got it.

Funny part is her car was so much fun I had to have one of my own.
