Hi!

I’m Mel, and I’m the proud owner of a 2012 mini justa. I bought it with a bad engine “unknowingly” and poured a lot more money we didn’t really have into it. So, it runs!

other work we’ve had done on her:
- sensors
- lightbulbs (but the light saying they don’t work still lights up)
- alternstor
- serpentine belt
- clutch and water pump
- tensioner for a belt
- rear brakes and calipers (which were sticking)
-windshield

We get lights that come on and then go off at random, and I’m wondering if this car has an open recall on the control module since it’s got a sunroof.

Im getting oil change and front brakes checked out Wednesday, but we replaced the brake pads and rotors when we first got it, and then it spent 6 months waiting for parts and engine work before getting to drive it. We’ve only driven it for about 6 months, and very little, so that’s surprising to have brake issues so soon. I’m not hard on the car.

Anyway, I’m here to learn all that I might need to keep this basically new to me car on the road forever.

thanks for having me!

Welcome,

I had a 2011 S model with 6 speed manual. The owner I bought it from mentioned that it had rear pads sticking as it wasn't used much. Under my ownership "Barry the Cooper" wasn't used much either, so I didn't put on the emergency/parking brake when sitting at home and instead put him in gear and put a brick behind the front wheel as a backup. You mentioned not much use so maybe that's the cause for sticking pads.

HTH
cheers

Welcome, yep the rear brake cables like to stick. They can build up rust inside the cables.
