Hello, I just got my sister's one-owner 2008 Clubman. It's the S model with the 6 speed. It has 117,000 miles. Looks like it has had 3 water pumps (1 original, 2 replacements), axle seals, tensioner recall, valve cover gasket replacement plus the usual maintenance things like new pads, tires, oil changes, bulb replacements, etc.

I have questions!!!
Is there any place in the Minnesota region or area that is recommended by the group for mechanical (engine, drive train) repairs or trouble shooting? I don't have any now but just trying to be prepared.
What is the best source for mail order parts? I need a new tail light, a cowling that surrounds the tail light, and a new center console (thieves busted the one that's there and the top is shot).
Do these cars have well-known sunroof problems? My sister said this car's sunroof was a problem after the first year and ever after; I hope I can get it to work as it should.
Any other advice on Mini Cooper ownership would be appreciated: Local rallies? Parts swaps?

For your sunroof - find the specific area for your model and post away. There are usually multiple threads addressing the common issues

What is the issue with the sunroof? Won't open, or won't close?

 

The seller said it keeps water out but has a lot of wind noise, even when closed. TBH, I haven't looked into it but seller said he was told it was a common complaint. And that it showed up about a year after he bought it new in 2008.
