Pin in Oil Pan

I have a 2009 Clubman. I dropped the oil pan this evening and found a pin in the pan. I attached a photo of the pin. The pin is approximately 8 mm in diameter and 17.25 mm long. It is hollow with an approx. 2.5 mm hole all the way through.

Any help identifying the pin would be greatly appreciated. I have looked at the bottom to the engine and can not see anywhere the pin could have come from.

Thanks, MiniJMT

Looks like a guide pin on the rocker. Did anyone do repair work on it before and drop one?

No prior work that could have dropped a rocker guide pin. The clutch was replaced a few years ago.

I am replacing the pan because I hit some rode debris and got a hole in the oil pan.
