Hi Folks,
I am about to be a new MINI owner. On Tuesday, I will be picking up a 2016 FWD Clubman. I've long liked the idea of MINI and years ago, I drive one owned by a friend. My wife is also a MINI fan and particularly likes the split doors of the Clubman because a hatch rises too high for her to reach once it's open. I'll mostly be a lurker here until I learn enough to be of use to anyone. For now, I'll just be in learning mode.

I actually picked it up this past Friday, but have somehow managed to put a couple of hundred miles on it already. It's smoother and quieter than I expected but still has that go-cart feel. I've spent a lot of time on YouTube learning how to get it set up the way I want. I think the configuration software is unnecessarily complex but I can learn to live with it.
At the moment, I'm using it as my daily driver since my son needed to borrow my Maverick (truck) while his wife's car is being repaired from an accident. The driving experience is really good. I'm not sure how distance driving will feel. I may find out this weekend.

I have a 2012 Coupe and they are in most peoples opinion the stiffest stock ride of the Minis. I did a monthly trip from Ohio to Wisconsin, 472 miles one way, and didn't have major issues.
Maccoder, I couldn't do what you did. The drive and the distance wouldn't be my issue but my wife is a horrible back seat driver. I love her but man long trips with her can get on my nerves. LOL
