Hi I'm very happy to be here. I recently got a 2006 R53 JCW Chili Red 6 speed with LSD option. I read that it was not a very popular option but I really like it. Got it on a Salvage Title but don't know why it got salvaged. Drives straight and I don't see any like crumples anywhere. I has Bilstien struts and had Eibach lowering springs and had NO travel suspension travel in front. I discovered that the struts were no for use with lowering springs. Got some stock springs from Pick A Part and now have a little. Anyway this little car is a HOOT! It's probably the hardest car I've ever been in to drive slow. It just doesn't want to do it. I handles so good. It's on Nexen SU1 tires and seems to really like them. When I'm out driving I find that what is merely brisk for the Mini is breakneck for mere mortal cars as long as there are curves involved. I just love that WEEEEEEEEP!!!! the supercharger makes. one of the best sounds ever. My wife and I are both retired and by pure good fortune she also likes cars. After divesting ourselves of some real estate to a developer for more than we ever could have hoped to get for it we will be able to have a modest car collection. A Mini was never on that list but now its the first member. That little car just puts a smile on our faces every time we go out in it. However I do find it's construction a bit odd so I will be making much use of this forum to bask in the massed knowledge that resides here. Let's see if I can get a couple of pics up here. It doesn't bite. Grandkids just saw movie "Chupa" about a baby Chupacabra so wanted MINI to have teeth. Maybe it does bite. The neighbors Fiat 500 just came up missing part of the left rear quarter. Calling it Hit-and-Run but looks like teeth marks to me. Lots of fun
Keep the fangs they look great! It doesn't take much damage to total one of these cars these days; would not be too worried about it. Sounds like you're having fun with it, looking forward to reading your posts. Welcome.
