Hi all!
Joined NAM in 2004, before I ordered my 2005 MCSc from the factory in Oxford... Was active for years as a normal member and as the coordinator for SoCal MINI Maniacs topic here in Owners Clubs...
Had a kid in 2008 and another in 2012, and that really affected my participation. My R52 is named "Murray" after Murray Walker, the former "Voice of Formula One", and my CA plate is "LV DRVN"... (I requested "ZIG ZAGS", but was denied because it "promoted use of illegal substances"... Meanwhile. I noted a neighbor on my street had CA plates on his giant pickup: "KILM ALL"...)
Anyway, I got my last major mods in 2009 - see list in my sig - and aside from various sticky sets of non-run-flats, have not really done anything to Murray except drive! ODO currently has just over 65k original miles, and part of that number being so low is that Murray sat in my driveway from just before the COVID travel restrictions - and "stay home" instructions from work - to last week, when Scott McIntyre of Motoring Magic in Thousand Oaks handed me back my keys... Murray is running better than ever and although the custom bonnet and boot stripes are faded, it's great to be behind the wheel again!
Looking forward to putting some new miles on the clock on twisty roads!
Give me a shout if you know me from the old days...
Keep on motorin'

I'm not from that membership era but I too welcome you back! Also interesting with your mention of Motoring Magic, which I would definitely be interested in patronizing if I still lived "over the hill" from that shop in former home turf of Camarillo (35 yrs though 2013). Wishing there were MINI specialty shops like that anywhere near my current location.
