Hello to all

Howdy, i am 15 and have an electric blue MCS. At first i wanted a Prelude, but then i saw the light. So far i have a few dress-up pieces, nothing much yet. I live in Houston, TX so if anyone knows of any MINI clubs/groups that are around there that would be helpful. It would be nice to meet up with some of you guys from the forums.

I'm friends with the resigning houston mini club pres and he's always talking about how great the people are and judging from the posts and party pics thay look like alot of fun. I just ordered my Mini on New Year's eve so I haven't been to any meetings but plan to. Good luck and I hope to see you around.

Wow, that's a lot of car for an inexperienced driver (...which you are if you're 15)! Be safe, okay...I'm sure you can handle it, but the roadways out there nowadays are simply nuts so please be careful. (Yes, I know...I AM a parent.)

That said...for a young driver, you're really very lucky to have a MINI. I know you'll enjoy it! I predict your standard for motor vehicles is going to be pretty high from here on out.

The MetroplexMINI link above is the best way to find motorers in you area. Enjoy your baby...and welcome!!!

major congrats. Even though you are young you need to drive other cars that are out there so you will appreciate the Mini that much more. After being a Mini Cooper owner for two great years. Other cars feel strange and sort of detached from me. The legs out driving position is one of the strangest things to get used to in virtually all other cars. I love the way the Mini has an upright driving position.

MiniCooperMan37,

Aloha from Hawaii and welcome to NAM. Great to hear from you. You might be the youngest MINI driver right now on NAM.

Check with your dealership about local MINI clubs or check with the local chapter of BMW Car club of America. On NAM we have regional forums so go and check what is in TX.

If you can find a driving school event sponsored by the BMW club or MINI club in your area that is always a worthwhile learning experience. Autocross is also a great way to learn how to drive your MINI. Everytime there is a fun run at autocross get an instructor to go out with you so you can learn more.

The MINI is a great car, fun to drive, easy to handle, with lots of modifications both cosmetic and functional. It's very unique and the people who drive them are very diverse.

Let us know if you have any questions or ideas for your MINI.
Motor On.
