My SECOND First Gear Thread!

Hello again NAM! I posted a while ago while I was looking for my MINI, but ended up accidentally buying a Range Rover instead, which set my MINI hunt back a bit. But that changed about two weeks ago when I found what certainly appeared to be my nearly perfect combination on a MINI for peanuts a couple hours away from home. My incredibly supportive partner and I hit the road at 0500 to get there before another interested party, and drove it home.

This is it, about five minutes after I got it. 05 S, Dark Silver Metallic with black interior and anthracite headliner. Engine appears to be completely stock, if a bit leaky. It's sitting on Godspeed MAXX coilovers, which were set at their lowest possible height when I got it. They've since been raised up to a more reasonable height, and I've replaced brake pads and a wheel bearing. I've got a bit of a to-do list, sort of a combination of maintenance and upgrades. I'll be posting more pictures as it goes.

Looks like the front wheel arch molding didn’t like the lowest coilover setting lol. Tend to the leaks, replace the missing pieces and a set of tail lights and you got yourself a keeper, nice score.

Not one bit, turns out! I think I had the replacement wheel arch on the way before I even got it home lol.

That's the plan! Since getting it home, I've replaced the wheel arch, replaced the headliner, replaced the blown speakers with some nice aftermarket jobs, restored the headlights(they were severely yellowed), replaced the front wheel bearings, replaced the front brakes, raised the suspension and inch and a quarter all around, replaced the high center mount stop light, added aero grills in gloss black, and replaced the passenger side CV shaft.

I've got some time on a lift scheduled next weekend at a friend's shop. I'm thinking at that time, I'm going to do a supercharger and water pump service, install a 17% pulley, and a coolant flush. Then while I've got the lift and a shop to work in, I'm gonna go ahead and do the dipstick o-ring, crank sensor o-ring, oil cooler o-rings, and possibly the oil filter housing gaskets, hopefully this will fix any leaks I've got and prevent any new ones from cropping up for a while. Any other preventative maintenance or common leaks I should tackle while I'm in there? Car has about 128,000 miles, for the record.
