had my mini for about 8 years, just got it running after receiving it in a ton of pieces from PO trying to replace the timing chains. got it together and had no oil pressure. Ended up finding the oil filter deteriorated and pieces sucked into the oil system. replaced the oil cooler, oil filter adapter and oil pump with no luck of getting oil pressure high enough to turn the light off and stop lifters rattling. car sat with 10 quarts overfull of oil for over 2 years. drug it out a couple weeks and oil pressure is perfect and been driving it for a few weeks and fixing all the little things. 2008 mini cooper S with an auto.
