Hello everyone!
A few weeks ago i decided to buy a 1st gen cooper to indulge a little midlife crisis . So I sold my 10 years old reliable workhorse german 5 doors hatchback and buyed a 15 years old unreliable 3 doors half british half german hatch. As soon as I got behind the steering wheel I knew it would be a love-hate relationship. The car handled very nice although the shocks and the strut mounts were blown. The clutch was hard and to be replaced, the front suspension bushings were beyond their working life. So the dealer agreed to replace almost everything but the front shocks and rear brakes which I did myself. The BMW dealer also guaranteed the mileage (65k) on paper.
Now the car is in good shape but everyday I feel like gremlins lurking behind each panel or dash light LOL... well... but I am happy. It is not an "S" (in europe gasoline costs more than wine) so there is not that supercharger "oomph" but the car feels light and snappy.
