Cool!
Thanks Maik.

The measurements would give me a head start and be quite helpful.

I have attached the measurements I used, these are made by the german group power mini's. It's in millimetres so I hope it's useful.

Many thanks Maik!

That is an awesome diagram.

Apologies for my delayed response but I was working away from home and not online.

Just got back late yesterday and I had a glorious ride home --- I travel for work so I get to drive my car throughout the southeast and I always try to find the squiggly scenic routes!

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ate-route.html

Last week I was in North Carolina which is one of my favorite places to be!

Those pics are from the Blue Ridge Parkway which is a beautiful drive and quite fun too...

https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/

...but to have real fun you got to get off of it into the more isolated areas and 215 will take you there.

Lately I've been using a motorcyclist gps map from Germany called Calimoto:

https://calimoto.com/en

It is a great app and has an algorithm which finds the twistiest bits. I've only used it a month now, but I'd give it a 5 star rating because it has worked like a charm for me!

I finally found some time to work on the paint of the MINI. Polished all panels and applied the Gyeon Mohs coating except for the hood as i'm planning on a respray due to road gravel..
Next up is the interior but for now the MINI found it's place in the garage with the cover on it waiting for some nice weather.
Also as in Germany winter tyres are obligated during winter conditions I bought a set of R99's in Grey. I don't want to drive during winter conditions but if I somehow have to... better safe than sorry.

I fitted the R99 wheels ans was curious what the weight difference would be so I took the scale and found out that the R105's are a bit heavier.
R99 with Dunlop SP Sport 01 Runflat (205/45/17) : 16,9kg
R105 with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 non Runflat (205/40/18) 18,8kg
Will check the weight again when I fit the wintertyres to the R99

Also got some project for the next weeks/months.
As my right calliper is now a ORKS instead of John Cooper Works I ordered some heat resistant stickers which are a direct replacement for the original logo. So I will apply the sticker and cover the calliper with 4/5 layers of clear coat.
Also in Germany cars mostly don't have a alarm. Unfortunately my MINI doesn't have one either.. So I decided to retrofit it but the cars over here aren't pre wired and MINI doesn't supply the retrofit kit anymore. I have now most of the parts, just need to figure out which connectors I need and I can start retrofitting it.
Also want to spray some parts and swap the intake manifold as I broke one of the IC bracket bolts and when I was trying to tap in a left thread so I could remove the bolt I broke my tap too...... never happened before so I could slap myself but a new intake manifold is the best option now.

Well the MINI "project" goes on.
I resprayed the callipers with new stickers. decided to do the rear a bit different as they came factory just in boring silver.
Front before/after

Rear before/after
New member from Germany-flyubmr.jpg

I also replaced some of the original stickers as the previous owner removed or tried to remove them.
So the fan warning and fill capacities of the airco came new
New member from Germany-mv9yxb3.jpg

The coil pack has got a new one too
New member from Germany-yfifmqy.jpg

In the doorsill the tyre pressure one is replaced and the sport brakes and sport suspension were placed
New member from Germany-brmk1bi.jpg

I didn't like the blueish (6500K) led interior lights that were in the MINI so I replaced them with a set of 4300K ones, see the difference:
New member from Germany-5zm7qyy.jpg

Next I fitted the Powerflex busing for the engine mount:
New member from Germany-z8o7ge5.jpg

Last but not least I finally found a LHD E-breakhandle with the old style logo
New member from Germany-oxan7qp.jpg

Next on the list is a bit more leather and carbon for the interior and the Alarm retrofit.
I'm also searching for the last JCW bits so I can finally say I've got them all!
What i'm missing is:
- JCW Carbon belt passage cover (52100404665)
- JCW Rear seat in all black leather (52200395816)
- JCW Shiftlight (62130410113)

Looks great!

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I'd like to get this decal label for my core support to add more R to R53 ...

Name: wq8HfkE.jpg
Views: 180
Size: 104.9 KB

...but the cheapest I can find it is $25 so I can live without it unless I find it for a more reasonable price.

If you have de dimensions of that sticker.
He made some stickers for me too that aren’t available anymore:

I think you can recognize the most of them. (The logo’s are for the struts)

Love that set of decals you had made!

Especially the 98 RON gasoline sticker --- not very often seen.

And the next mods are done!
I found some inner door handles that were covered in real carbon, that really fits my car as I have more carbon details. So I had to have them:
New member from Germany-4gewdqa.jpg

Also I finally got my Downtubes which I had cover in Leather. The goal was a copy of the original JCW ones as you can't get them anymore. So I send over a dozen of photos from my original JCW dash and yesterday I got the downtubes back from my upholsterer have to say the structure of the leather is almost the same but if you look really close there is a small difference. But the color is 100% the same unfortunately due to the lightning in my garage I can't get a picture where my dash and downtubes have the same lightning. But i'm really happy how they turned out!

So it is time for an update.
Didn't drive much with the MINI due to the bad weather.
But it did replace the battery after 14 years it had gone bad, so replaced it with an original one from MINI.

I also finally found an original Shiftlight in Panther Black
New member from Germany-vz8pkb9.jpg
New member from Germany-a5hhfvc.jpg

Still a couple of parts to go... till I achieve te goals of fitting all the JCW Accessories.

So have done some thing to the MINI in the last weeks.

First of all I finally found a Aero rear bumper and a new set sticker. The stickers were really hard to find as they aren't available anymore from BMW/MINI.
New member from Germany-dvmcxru.jpg

I also happend to find a new and original John Cooper Works keychain
New member from Germany-3punr98.jpg

So since a lot of MINI's overhere in Germany don't have the Alarm system and aren't pre wired either I made it all myself.
Started with the interior sensor:
New member from Germany-acackhj.jpg
New member from Germany-pesdfk6.jpg
New member from Germany-s4zumva.jpg

Next up was the sirene
New member from Germany-ac10hvp.jpg

Last but not least all of the wiring
New member from Germany-bluslmx.jpg

And finally some coding to get it all working

Last weekend we went to take some photo's, personally I really like this one:
New member from Germany-lthfjkl.jpg

Only thing left to do is painting and fitting the Aero spoiler.

Since the day I bought my John Cooper Works front seats there were two rare Accessories that I had to have.
The John Cooper Works rear seat (P/N: 52200395816) and the John Cooper Works Carbon seat inserts (P/N: 52100404665).

So last couple of weeks ago I found a complete JCW Interior set with both the options fitted, but my front seats were in a better condition. So took the parts I wanted and sold the front seats.

Last weekend I fitted the rear seat:
New member from Germany-npueyeo.jpg
New member from Germany-6zum7yj.jpg

And yesterday I swapped over the Carbon inserts!
New member from Germany-ncuitbf.jpg

The only parts missing are:
- John Cooper Works Spoiler, which I won't fit/buy because i'm planning on fitting the Aero Spoiler.
- John Cooper Works Suspension, unfortunately really hard to find
- John Cooper Works Illuminated door sills, also real hard to find

Apart from those parts my MINI is now equipped with every single John Cooper Works part that was available for the 1st Gen MINI

Don't know how I missed seeing your thread topic before today. What a fantastic spec'd JCW from the factory plus subsequent upgrades you've done since taking ownership! My own recently acquired R53 (sig) is quite different factory build, being spec'd with just chrono and LSD in addition to normal Sport pkg features. It's an interesting car though, being super low mileage and highly modded for track performance by the original owner before stored away 15 years.

I only visited Germany and surrounding areas once, that being the summer of 1981 when I took delivery of a then-new BMW R100RS moto (at BMW headquarters adjacent to the "Teacup" Museum) in München before riding the Alps for 3 weeks. What an experience with combo of beauty in those Alpine passes plus the history, culture and food too. Still so many great memories from that 40 years later! That moto was a "gummikuh" when new but I fixed that with combo of triangulated swingarm brace, fork tube dampening mods and a machined upper triple clamp before doing some track events. Ah, what great times...

Your car looks amazing, the Sparco seats look great too, it's not often you see JCW r53's with the Sparco or Recaro seats.

Where did you manage to find most of the JCW parts? I have been searching for some OEM parts but not having much luck as a lot of places either won't ship to Australia or charge a fortune.

I am so jealous of the roads you have in Germany, so winding, hilly, scenic and those trees (I love huge trees). Speaking of huge trees, this is one I have climbed (75m) and is a few hours drive from Perth Western Australia:

I picked up a 2006 JCW a couple of months ago and finally received it just recently, it has the heated factory Recaro's. This is the car here when it was advertised last year.

https://www.grays.com/lot/0001-10096...nual-hatchback

It has only done 1000km's since these photos were taken. It has the JCW gear **** but not the JCW steering wheel.

I am trying to purchase OEM Mini stuff, not too worried about if it is JCW or not as it is either too costly or to hard to find anything JCW in Australia.

You have done a fantastic job with your mini

That must be an great experience but I always wondered how is that done, how do you get your motor back home and what license plates do you use when riding in Germany? Just the "kruzzeitkennzeichen" or do you bring your own plates?

Most of the Parts I found in Germany, The Netherlands, UK and Italy. From most of the countries in Europe shipping to Australia is expensive. For example if I would ship a Box of maximum 5 kg and max 120cm x 60cm x 60cm including insurance up to €500 it costs €45,99...
But if you ever see something you'd really like and it's either in Germany or The Netherlands send me a message and we might can figure something out and get it shipped to Australia!

Back in 1981, actually less cost to airship the moto home than via ocean freight. All required was for the fuel/petrol tank being nearly empty before the airfreight service lashed the moto onto a special wooden pallet skid. At same time balance of purchase price was paid at the BMW headquarters, an oval "zoll" (toll-free) plate was issued for tourist use while in Europe. That moto is long gone but the zoll plate is still hanging on my garage wall. Here's an image example "borrowed" from the internet:

Thank you so much for the offer I will see how I go. I am waiting on front bumper park lights that I ordered on eBay so my car can pass inspection as it is currently unregistered (the cracked front park light is the only thing left to be fixed). I also spotted this on eBay and have contacted the seller to see if he will ship to Australia and how much though this already works out to about $1300 AU without shipping :(

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124807557...1&toolid=10001

The back seats look incredible. I am lucky as I don't need to replace the seats on mine as it already had the Recaros and matching back seats (Black & grey leather).

I am looking for a JCW hand brake handle and am looking at buying black r56 LED driving lights / covers as I live near the ocean and the R53 ones will rust in no time. Just need to work out how to wire them up and get a bracket made up that fits the r53. My plan with the car was to drive all the way around Australia with my camping gear in the back but covid lockdowns have put an end to that idea for now. The driving lights will be needed to avoid hitting kangaroos and emus.

I'm also looking for an oem mini cooler bag to keep my iced coffees cool when I eventually get to do my road trip but paying twice the price for shipping doesn't really appeal to me.

You should check the Facebook groups in the UK cause those RHD carbon dashboards do come up quite often over there for a couple of hundred pound less. Last ones in good condition were about 500/550 pounds. The ebay one for 725 pound is a bit steep if you'd aks me.

Are you looking for a special type of handbrake handle? Like new, old or no logo? Leather or Alcantara? I might know one.

For the driving lights, you can order just the brackets for the R53 at the dealer, P/N: 63120137304. Also I bought a set of 5" Wipacs for my MINI, they are almost like the original ones and fit to the original brackets. Also the covers from the original ones fit on to them.
