So just bought a 2011 R56 over the weekend. I'm new to the Mini scene but not new to turbos. I had a 2003 Neon SRT-4 that I built up to 520fwhp at the last Dyno run. Lost that car in my divorce and it's been several years since I've done any tuning. I did everything on my own with the Neon including tuning as I had weekend and night use of a hub mount Dyno. Anyway looking forward to this new adventure.

No pics yet but it's your typical 2011 pepper white with black top 2 door hatch back. Gonna order some maintenance stuff for it real soon. 82k miles and no real idea if it's ever had and timing chain work done on it.

Hey! I had a SRT4 before the Mini as well. The neon was totaled about three years ago by a drunk driver. I have had the Mini since October and have been working on maintenance items for a few months now.

So digging into my little gocart a bit I have found it has build date of 1/2011 and does not have the noise generator at all. It's a stock appearing pipe without the T in it and it appears to have some type of aftermarket diverter valve. I have the aluminum spacer on Boost sensor on the intake manifold. The installer used the side port and not the one that comes out the front so they could T in a boost gauge. I still plan the remove the IC muffler soon. I have a timing chain pre tensioner on the way so I can check chain wear and see how that looks. I don't hear any chain rattle but you can't be too careful when it comes to that stuff. I know I have new plugs and new factory coils but I believe everything else is stock. I have no idea if I'm still running factory tune or if it's been reflashed. I suspect it has some aftermarket tune though. I want to get something like the P3 OBD2 Multi-Gauge so I can checck water and oil temp and all that stuff. For now I have the non Harmon radio and it does not work. The multi function joy stick does not work either so the little information readout is stuck on the wrong date and just --:--:-- read out. I'll have to look more into that as I get time and read up more on it.
