Hello Everyone and Thanks for the Add!

Hello Everyone!
My name is Kevin Marquez, just moved to Pueblo, CO from Greeley, CO, and purchased my first Mini which is a 2008 Mini Cooper s! The car had 110,000+ miles and had a lot of maintenance done to it (i.e. plugs, coils, intake cleaning, etc.), and thought I would slowly give this car some TLC throughout my course of ownership.

As y'all can imagine, it didn't work out this way...had a cylinder 2 misfire, tried swapping coils and plugs to no victory, yet noticed some oil build up in that cylinder, so suspected possible valve/valve seals. Anyways, did a dry and then a wet compression test to find that cyl. 1,3, and 4 have 122 on them and cyl 2 only had 30 with no improvement with the wet test.

So, it looks like I get to bring up my old tech skills, since I used to be a mechanic for 12 years about 6 years ago! Woohoo!

So being a novice to this kind of vehicle, if anyone has experience wit a similar issue, what was the route you took? How much did you pay to have it done right? What hiccups would you try to avoid if you had to do it again?

Would love to hear from y'all! Thanks again!
