In June, 2010, I purchased my first MINI - a 2010 MINI Cooper Clubman S. I drove it for 128,000 miles and then traded it in June, 2015 for a leftover new 2014 MINI Cooper Clubman S. In January, 2019, I traded my 2014 Clubman in as I needed a larger vehicle. However, over the next 9 months, I missed my MINI for the 45 mile (each way) daily commutes. I recently decided to begin a search for a used MINI. A couple of weeks ago, I found a mint condition 2008 R56 Hardtop with just 47,500 miles on it. The car was clearly very well cared for. I am just completing my first week of daily commutes in the MINI and loving it. Nine years after acquiring my first MINI I am finding this forum to be extremely helpful as I reacquaint myself with the car and the N14 engine.
Me too! I did notice the slightly different driving dynamics of the Hardtop versus the Clubman (shorter wheelbase, lighter, etc.) I also feel fortunate that this one was not loaded up with any extras.
