Greetings from Canada

Picked up a 2008 Cooper S a couple of weeks ago. Really is a hoot to drive. One of my other rides is also a Jeep and a smart. Still trying to figure out how to shoehorn everything into the driveway. Anyone have experience with car stackers?

You may be able to park 3 or 4 of the smaller ones parallel going up the driveway and the jeep perpendicular.
Have any grass to pave?
Any neighbors with more space than vehicles?
Is the garage full as well?

Personally, I have to parallel park in my driveway. The MINI, gets to stay in the garage.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks miniCPA, I have a really high ceiling in the garage but it already has two older cars stashed in it. Was thinking if I got a single car lift I could put the big car up in the air and put the mini and possibly even the smart inside. Was also thinking of renting some garage space but probably the smart move would be to get rid of something else. Up here we have these postage stamp sized lawns so as much as I would really like to pave what's there probably won't work out well. Perpendicular is a thought, I'll probably do some more experimenting with parking.

Thanks! Yes it is a fun ride! Do have some blue smoke but might be the oil that was in it when I bought it as I changed it today and am running AMSOIL 5w/40 and that seems to have greatly reduced the smoke on start off and motor feels stronger. I suspect rings might be worn, car is high milage so I had planned on pulling the motor and doing a fair bit of work on it over the winter.

Until I sell my old car, we're trying to fit 3 cars where two used to fit. We joked about trying to park them perpendicular to the driveway too!

And I'm a big fan of the BRG, but I seem to rarely see them at dealerships. I was just talking to a coworker about how Mini's have so many colors, but you only see the same ones that dealerships (gray, black, white, red). It's good to see that they "exotic" stock colors are having a nice life somewhere!

Thanks! I really like BRG as well. I actually have a Maisto Mini Cooper die cast in BRG that I bought back in 2003 but it took me a while to finally get a real one!

I think American Racing also makes a wheels that is similar, the one's I have are from Pro Comp. Got a good deal on them last winter.

I'm sure there is an app out there that can design the best layout for cramming cars into a driveway... Wife wouldn't let me pave the lawn (yet, divorce imminent)....

On the road I can't say I've seen many BRG Mini's either though I remember when the originals were sold up here that was a common colour. I remember a friend of my dad's had a Cooper in BRG who taught autoshop at a local college. I came close to buying a dark blue S but when the BRG one popped up on Autotrader I went for it. Mine has very high km's however the previous owners took exceptionally good care of her and a lot of the common issues have been addressed which was a bonus.

I'm still seriously considering a 4 post car stacking system. Just trying to figure out if I want the single or dual car version. I have the height in the garage but width could be a problem. I think with a single I could back the T-Bird in on the top level and perhaps shoehorn the Mini and smart underneath.

I really loved my BRG 05 MCS. I wish I still had it. It was my first Mini!

That has to be the fullest garage I have seen that still fits 2 cars. The most impressive part is that it does not appear that the wife's vehicle is one of the ones in the garage. It has been clear from the beginning that her side of the garage was off limits as was the half of the driveway leading up to it. I have my MINI in the garage, my daily driver in front of that, the kids car at the bottom of the driveway and the 5th car on the street.

I have thought about the lift as well. Any idea now much clearance you need? I have a 10 foot ceiling in the garage that I assume it is enough but I have never asked. My bigger concern is the garage door which is 3 feet from the ceiling. I assume there is a way to make that go up and stay closer to the ceiling. I don't think the neighbors would appreciate a 9 foot truck bay.

Nope, garage is all mine! I guess you could call me a Maximalist, pack the maximum amount of junk in the minimal amount of space.

Not sure if 10' is enough, here's one site that talks about that. https://www.gregsmithequipment.com/F...Ceiling-Height

And a place that I was looking at up here, http://www.liftsuperstore.com/wp-con...hure_Print.pdf

I have the same problem with my garage door, and it's more challenging because I built a storage area up there so the typical solution of changing the garage door tracks won't work in my case.
