Thanks! The previous owner definitely took good care of it. It was toured in the Mini Takes the States in 2016, so we know that it was at least enjoyed. It has about 95,000 miles on it. The only issue was the rear coils were busted, which also had cut the wheel speed indicator.
I replaced the speakers (who knew that you would need to practically gut the car just to replace the speakers -- especially the rear!), applied sound dampening to reduce road noise and built a platform to raise the rear trunk area.
I've wanted a Mini since they were launched in the US, and even as a teen was mailing requests to BMW Mini for promotional materials (which I wish I still had, since they sent me many packages!) I have to say that it has been worth the wait for sure, and it is as enjoyable to drive as I always imagined it would be.

I have owned many sports cars, luxury, pickups, sedans and spent sizable money on them, but the plain truth, the Mini's keep a smile on my face every time I drive them. I have owned many and have three Minis now. my 06 MCS is my daily driver and I would not have it any other way. They are unusual, meaning they do not fit in the every day drivers likes, they are solid, meaning they have a tightness on the road, that is hard to beat. They are understood, as they are like driving a go-kart, that is street legal. Are they practical? It is to me, as they fit the criteria, that I require. They are economical (averaging 30mpg), fit just about anywhere, handle unbelievably well, have great power, for a tiny 4 cylinder (06 R53 JCW) and good looks to boot!
I hope you enjoy yours as much! Congrats!

Welcome! That's a beautiful R56! Really makes me miss my wife's Astro Black '07. The yellow is much more playful, I dig it.
Really like what you did with the cargo area, our MINI was the official Corgi Transportation Module and she would have appreciated that mod very much.
Come out and play with us sometime! I'll be in a red Abarth 500 for the foreseeable future.

Indeed, they were a very heartwarming pair to see in the wild I'm sure.
My sister has an Olde Engligh Bulldogge that would be perfect for a MINI photo op. Never got around to it in the real MINI and I don't know if I'm willing to lift that beast into the R61. =P
