Have been driving MINIs for a while now. My first one was 2012 MCS Countryman ALL4 with manual transmission.
After about 2 years I had to part ways with it due to move to California (work reasons). There I purchased 2013 MCS Bayswater (manual as well), which I still drive to date.
I have moved back to Canada a few years ago and me and my wife drove MINI from San Francisco to Toronto (via Lake Tahoe, Nevada desert, Salt Lake City, Yellowstone Park, Mount Rushmore, Badlands, Chicago, Detroit). What a trip it was!
Shortly after we visited our friend in Boston, so my MINI now has a coast-to-coast achievement in its resume
I have added a few things to the car since I bought it: LED day running/fog lights, tinted windows, Apple CarPlay (aftermarket), rack with cargo box and Thule Kayak carriers that I use to transport my Porta-bote on the roof.
Here is a picture of it resting on the shore while we are fishing on the lake:
Hi and welcome to NAM!
Nice looking Bayswater! They are pretty unique. I have only ever seen one!
Congrats!
I bet your trip was very fun!
Thank you! Yes, it was a fantastic trip. So many different landscapes! And taking it on MINI made it even better.
Even couple of misfortunes that happened along the way didn't manage to ruin the experience: I had a huge crack on my windshield and had to replace front driver side tire - both incidents happened in Iowa due to debris falling off commercial trucks.
Great thing was insurance covered pretty much all the expenses, so my injured MINI was like new again in no time.
