First time MINI owner

Hey everyone, picked up an 03 Mini the other day. Nice little car. Previous owner was leaving the country for a while and didn’t want to fix some of the issues, so this sucker stepped up! Lol anyways here’s a photo. Blast to drive, I’ve started dealing with some of the little things. Bigger issue is the electrical problem. No dash lights. But coming along nicely so far!

Nice looking car. Cute baby too.

Two years ago I bought my first MINI, a 2008 Cooper S that had lots of issues. I'm mechanically inclined and did all the work myself and it was fun to get it back to right. Hope you have good luck, and fun with it.

I ended up buying a 2019 because I wanted newer things and a quieter car. But I have a complaint about the 2019. Which brings me back around to your picture.Your first gen is when the cars looked great. So much smaller front end and that's what people loved. Small and cute. Your picture shows those good proportions.

Wow! You're younger that I would have suspected. Nice Mini. My '04 has been a blast to own/drive, and work on. Look around on the Interweb and you can find a maintenance manual in PDF form for around $20. It will be invaluable to you when replacing parts. Also, check out www.realoem.com for part schematics/part #s. You'll find that www.partsgeek.com is a good, affordable parts source. I've used them extensively and never been dissatisfied. There are also quite a few vendors that are members on this forum. Good luck.

Hi and welcome to the NAM family!
Congrats on your new to you R50 Mini!
They are great fun to drive and designed for the twisties. The gen 1 area is loaded with info on your model. It will help you identify problems and get solutions.
Makes sure to read the common problems section!
It is in very nice cosmetic shape, from what I can see!
