morning all R53 people

never thought my days would end under a mini, but that's what it looks like right now. BMW has designed a car that cannot be stolen (nor apparently driven, either). The problem- no crank, Key seems to be recognized (chimes) battery voltage is 13 plus, clutch is against the floorboard, instrument lights are on, brand new starter, but no joy.
Any suggestions about what else I can try (short of a two thousand dollar visit to the dealer) would be welcome.

Have you tried push starting the car?

Neutral safety switch might have gone out, or the fuse blew.
But yes, push starting would be an interesting idea.
Is this a car you've picked up recently, or has it just stopped working?

When I had the same symptoms, my alternator had seized. See if the car starts with the tension off the belt.

Not nearly enough info to help you and a bit too negative to make me want to!
Codes?
Welcome to NAM.
It seems you got way over your head with this one. I hope you did not pay too much!
