New owner from Minnesoooota

Long time GTI owner, just traded an S3 for a cpo F56 last week. I missed the third pedal too much and with my commute the S3 probably wasn’t the best choice. I’ve been super happy so far! Did some plasti-dipping and have some weather tech liners and 10mm spacers in the way for the rear so far!

Congrats and the car looks fantastic! I can't see where you plasti-dipped anything. Where were the mods done at?

Ahh. Those were the first pics I took. I dipped the rings and the gas cap. I took everything off instead of masking. Not sure if it was worth it. I still might just get the black line stuff anyway since I imagine with the Minnesota weather (winter) the dip won’t last.

Very nice - let me know what you think of the dipped rings. I am looking to do the blackline upgrade but am having a hard time swallowing the $300 MINI charges for the black light surrounds.

So I’ve had them dipped for a while and they are holding up fine. I did it when it was cooler outside so they are pretty orange peely if that makes sense. I got the black line grill surround so it does look a little odd close up with matte around the lights and shiny black around the grill though. Eventually I might pony up and get the oem rings. Lol

Thanks - yeah, I decided to just hold off until I can justify the expense of the proper rings. I also added the black grill surround, so I understand the issue between the gloss and matte.
