Hey guys new member here in the San Francisco Bay area of California. I just purchased a 2008 S model hatchback. Car has about 100,000 miles, I’ve owned it for a week and I already replaced the water pump and discovered a million oil leaks. I am stoked on the car though, super fun to drive. Plan on fixing it all myself. Car is in pretty good shape for what I paid for it.
If you have any questions on leaks, just let us know, I have stripped my 07 down to just the block and can pretty much pin point any leak.
took it to the dealer, got an oil change and had them identify where it was leaking. Below is a list in order of how bad the leaks are.
vacuum pump - really bad
oil filter housing - little
oil pan gasket - little
turbo oil line - little
I’ve ordered all these parts & I plan on doing All the work myself next weekend. My question is........
Is there anything else I should be replacing while I have the stuff apart? Any other valves, switches, gaskets?
Welcome! I'm also a new owner of an almost 100k mile R56 and also seems like some problems are starting to turn up (will update my intro thread) so I suspect we may be on a similar adventure, maybe worth sharing what turns up and we figure out.

Absolutely! Good luck if you’re going to be doing the oil lines and filter housing gaskets, It was a chore! Strongly suggest removing the front end and getting the radiator and fan out of the way. There was a great video on YouTube from Erick the car guy that really helped me out
