Hello from Philadelphia

Hello everyone. My name is Chris and I bought an automatic 2013 Mini Cooper Clubman S Hyde Park in September. It currently has 81,000 miles and is sporting black Bridge Sport 94 alloys with Blizzak WS80's.

I was on my way home when I noticed some smoke coming out from under the hood. There's coolant and oil all over the back of the engine - coolant is dripping off of the driver side control arm and the entire steering rack is covered in fluid. Fun!

I have a feeling I'll be using this forum quite a bit!

Thanks!
Chris

Thanks! The first thing I bought for the car was from your company - hood heat shield and insulation.

Hey Chris,

Since you are in Philly, suggest to check out Helix in Manayunk: http://store.helix13.com/headquarters/

Also, we have a very active PhillyMINI Club. Can find us at our website and also on FaceBook https://phillymini.clubexpress.com/

Hope you get your Clubbie sorted. We had a 2013 R55 and it was a blast to drive and versatile too.

Cheers!

Mini of Mount Laurel got all of the leaks sorted out. It was a thermostat housing that failed along with the oil filter mounting gasket. $2,200 total!!!

I did join Philly MINI. A good club with good people.

Up next is looking at CAI. I'm seeing so many: DDM, AEM, K & N, Alta, M7, NM and AFE. Out of those I see that only K & N, Alta and AFE list possible HP increase - 8, 10 and up to 18 respectively.

I also need to ditch these runflat tires. They offer nothing in the way of secure grip. The brakes are another area that need to be improved, but it's all about the CAI for now.

They are all pretty decent, yet all very similar as well... So I would expect that you would get a performance increase with any of them!
I have an Alta on my R53, and an M7 on my R60. Both are great intakes for sure... cant speak for the others, but I've heard mostly all good things!

Intakes don't really make any power as the manufactures advertise. So if you you want power save your money for an intercooler as that will actually lower intake temps.
