Love at first drive...

Hello All. After a summer of searching for the right car I've finally purchased a 2010 Clubman S Laurel edition. My first choice would have been a supercharged 2005 or 2006 but when the 2010 Laurel Edition came up for sale I could not pass up a 1 of 100 model. Man does this car make me smile. It's mechanically bone stock and I am planning some mods like a catch can to keep the car healthy. I spent a good amount of time remove the previous owner's "stink" of excessive vinyl decals and plasti-dip. I look forward to chatting with you all about these fun cars.

Thanks mini CPA.

Here are a few pics of the day I bought it and it's current state. Black plasti-dip and most of the vinyl have since been removed. Jury is still out on whether or not the keep the angled quarter panel stripes. I'm sure many like the look but it just didn't fit me.

Current State...

Thanks Monk Edsel. Here are a few more recent pics. Since these pics, I've replaced the missing tow hook cover and hit the black plastic body skirts and wheel arches with Meguiar's Ultimate Black, which I highly recommend (just don't let it rest on your paint too long!).

It was sin to cover up those side skirts with Plasti-dip!

Plasti-dip had to go!

I know in order to restore to original I would need to bring the roof back to white and try to get the stripe kit (seems nearly impossible to find since there were so few made!), add the hood stripe, and locate a set of black driving lights. The wife likes the red brake ducts in the grille but I'm not sure how I feel about them in red. I'm also missing the hood emblem. This pic is what sold me on the Laurel:

Wow, I can't believe how much they altered the car (although I think the look was good). Why buy a car with a limited appearance package if you are just going to effectively destroy most of it? It just seems wrong to me. But now you have rescued it. :D:D:D

I think by law, car manufacturers have to keep parts available for the cars they sell for 10 years. Since your missing stripes are factory, perhaps a dealer can still order them from someplace? There have to be a few sets out there somewhere. Or if they printed them on demand, that would be something.

Congrats, yep thats what they looked like back in the day, not too many around. I really liked they had the JCW body kit and stripe package.

Here is some more info: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...e-stripes.html
