Bought a mini

Bought a 2002 Mini Cooper S with 6 speed manual transmission. Body/interior are in great condition. 124k miles. Always wanted a mini but unfortunately this one is for my daughter for her 16th birthday.

Has a sound from the front passenger wheel that increases with speed, if i push in the clutch it doesn't go away. Previous owner said he ran over a stick and it started. I'm pretty handy though so I'm going to tackle that issue tomorrow. Today i'll wash it inside and out.

Here she is:

Take care before you give it to your daughter. Or don't let her go too far from home quite yet...
These cars, especially the S model have a 100,000 mile service that they should go thru. This includes changing the oil in the super charger, which requires a bit of work or money if you aren't happy doing it yourself.
A coolant flush, a brake fluid flush, things like that. Give the drive belt a close check, or just a good measure replacement.

Cool car in any case.

Is the drive belt the same as the serpentine belt?

I looked at the oil replacement for the supercharger. Didn't look to hard. Can change hte coolant/oil while i'm at it. And oil. But I'll need to address the sound from the front end.

Turns out that noise from the front passenger side was the axle. Ordered a new one, and took some time to get a deep clean on the passenger side, plus a good wax. There was all sorts of "stuff" stuck on the side.
