Mini Cooper Countryman 2012 R60

Good Afternoon Everyone! -

My name is Laura - from Melrose, Florida

New to the site - I have a 2012 Mini Cooper Countryman R60 - I love it! - I've had her for 5 years - and even though she eats the rear drivers side tires up more than any car I've seen - plus a few other things that have happened to her over the 5 years I've had her - New computer under the gear shifter - YUP do not - I repeat do not put drinks near this shifter (poor design for cup holders) a $900.00 fix. BUT I still love her!

Any way - I just wanted to introduce my self and a picture of my car. I also want to start a thread because I have a mechanical issue with her now, as she is sitting at home because the engine light came on this week. The code she threw at us was "MINI DTC P0597 Thermostat Heater Control Circuit/Open". With much research I've pretty much figured she needs a Thermostat housing unit - I think. She has 146,000 miles. I heard they go bad around 100K - any suggestions? My son will be fixing her this weekend. I just thought it would be great to get some advice from all who have them. I plan to search the site for other things on here as well.

Like I stated - she really has been an awesome car to us - and I still love driving her and I get compliments to this day about her.

Welcome! Glad you found the site, lots of good people and info here. That’s a nice looking Countryman. I have one too. I haven’t had to deal with the t-stat yet, so I can’t help you there, I’m afraid. Someone with the smarts will come along though...good luck and keep posting.
