Hi and welcome to NAM!
What trans is it and what is it not doing?
If it is auto trans and you bought it in poor working order, let us know what it is doing. It may be easy, or a real problem.
The manual 2006 6 speed manual is rock solid!
Pics of your Mini are a good thing for us to see! So, post some here!

Welcome to NAM.

I have bought two used Gen1 MINIs and no major issues with either one.

Welcome to the forum and MINI ownership. MINIs require more attention to maintenance than other cars and any car that is 13 years old will require maintenance and often an initial backlog of maintenance to get it up to the level that you would find acceptable. My completely biased opinion is that the first generation is the most pure MINI with the fewest compromises. Of the first generation, the final years are the most reliable.

The trade off for the additional maintenance is that you get a car that is a lot of fun to drive.

Post some pictures and ask your questions. You have come to the right place for both help and empathy.

Welcome.

Loads of information to find in the correct Forum, and if you can find it all you have to do is ask.

Don't forget to post some pics

Motor On!
