Replacing Heater Core

We need to replace the heater core on our 2006 Mini Cooper S Convertible. Apparently the two hoses in the engine compartment which need to be disconnected are almost impossible to get to. Any tips on how to get these disconnected. It would appear once that is done removal of the heating core under the dash on the drivers side is fairly easy.

Thanks for your help!

I think many have just protected the area around the core, removed the hose connections right there, and successfully changed the core.

Welcome!

Why do you need to replace the core? Is it leaking? otherwise before you dig that out, have you replaced the cabin filter? There are a few heating and cooling issues can be resolved by making sure your cabin filter is clean.

Best of luck.

Motor On!
