Greetings

New member trying to gain info on a first purchase. I am considering a 2012 hardtop purchase and was wondering what the appropriate forum for asking pricing questions is. If this is against forum policy, please share that info as well.

Thanks!

From a dealer or from a private party? One owner car? Have maintenance records?

It is difficult to estimate the price of any used car without doing research. I would start with a search nationally or regionally on several sites: Cars.com, Cargarus, com, Carfax.com, Autotrade.com and compare similar cars across the country (year, model, trim, mileage and condition. Prices vary from area to area but you probably will not find enough similar vehicles locally to compare. If the car you are looking at is in line with the averages, then you need to evaluate the condition and how closely it matches your wish list. Propose that the cost to address any issues that you find be adjusted from the average price for similar cars. Having a trusted mechanic assess the condition of a potential purchase could be money well spent.

The 2012 hardtop should be a good car to own.

Good luck and let us know what you find.
